FSD needed for such scenarios. It’s way better at judging following distance. Young drivers don’t have the experience to understand how much rain affects your stopping distance.

Following to close if you can't see around the car in front of you

There is no "Own Defense" traffic will always get in-between it sucks but you have adjust every time.

I leave a larger gap than that especially when it’s raining I don’t care if someone cuts in front of me.

A good lesson for keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Especially when it's raining. Especially when there is a larger vehicle in front and you cannot see ahead of them.
