19 years ago, Avril Lavigne released 'Girlfriend'

Bro, she was on top of the world.

Avril Lavigne didn't just release a hit, she created a global anthem! Girlfriend turned the pop-punk princess into an unstoppable force that dominated MTV and every dance floor back in 2007. 🎸💖 🤔 Fun Fact: To take over the world, Avril recorded the chorus in 8 different languages (including Mandarin and Japanese), but the Hindi version was scrapped because it was impossible to fit the syllables into the song's beat. Did you know? 🤯
