These days you can’t even enjoy a nice data center cigar any more. 😂

Dude has a killer hair style.

Just upset I was born too late to smoke a cigar in a datacenter whilst on the job.

"Yes, and imagine: When you're old, your grandkids will just have computers in their pockets wherever they go, see. And they take it out and just talk to it, and it will do whatever you ask, see, much better and faster than you ever could." We're already living in Scifi World.

they are pathetically small now it should become fashionable for men to have computers which take up 3 rooms of their houses, and which have arrays of giant lights and spinny things A status symbol for those with space to spare

Computahs in Brooklyn

I used to work on systems like that.. ICL VME3980 systems..

In early ‘80’s I was getting my computer science degree. University had an IBM 370 for students to program on. You had to sign up for time and it was key punch cards, with batches submitted. Did COBOL, FORTRAN, and Machine language (assembler) on it.

Back when technology was efficient and actually practical to use. We gave up speed and reliability for looks and glamour. AI almost feels like a step backwards, really.

Leisure suits! Those take me back...

In 1977 the Tandy TRS-80 was released

Oh yes... I changed many a tape and many a disc pack in my day. I think I might even have a scratched one in my garage. The heads had crashed on that one so the IBM tech tossed it in the dumpster. 😛

Women with huge tapes and mega huge computers ❤️ Doesn't get more sexy than that.

Paid big money to be seen smoking, I'm sure...Insane! More insane, our paid off government would ever allow that!!

Now that's a blast from the past. I have one of the platters from a disc pack that was given to me as a parting gift when I exited the army in 1989. The computer van had disk memory and tapes, just like this video. Too funny.

Larger and far more fun.

I graduated High School in 1975✌️🇺🇸

Yeah, we had those disks at a newspaper where I worked. Together with Harris terminals.

They skipped the part where they trapped the demon on the silicon enslaving it to their bidding.
