If car companies were still allowed to build and sell a Land Rover as simple and rugged as that '77 without all the govt mandated complexity (and cost) built into today's cars, they could probably deliver it for under $20k and sell a million of them a year.

77 is 1000x better make that again. i want man powered everything. i want no chips, no cams, no wifi, no power windows, no self driving, a regular basic key to unlock and start my car. this would make something everyone could afford.
