so much fun watching this...I would have loved to have heard their conversation while waiting to bowl!

The full broadcast is great, shows all 8 deliveries per bowler plus their chats off the pitch

Effortless rhythm. He bowled heat without breaking a sweat. 🙌

These speeds were recorded after pitching vs modern recording of at hand. As a reference....128 kmph is approximately 147 kmph using today's measurements

Bros are bowling military medium

But these were mid pitch average speeds. Adjusted to modern Hawkeye release speeds, these guys were clocking 145–155 km/h

Holding & Lillee under 130 kph do me a favour @CrowMo99

who the fuck tells us this fake narratives that these bullshit bowler bowls 150 plus wth these type of bowler in this era noboday will pick them at this pace 😂😂🙏🙏

Cameras measured average speed across the pitch, not release speed like modern Hawkeye. And a ball loses like 10–15 km/h after leaving the hand due to drag. On today's speed guns, these guys were easily 145–160 km/h.

Michael Holding's run-up and release is peerless. It's ballet on the cricket pitch.

Some idiots thinking these are medium pacers, lol they are bowling as quick as it gets as far as humanly possible, probably only Akhtar could bowl faster.

Thommo won this

Фото профиля WeymarOnCricket
WeymarOnCricket3 дней назад

Yes, even in 1975 when he clocked 160.46 Km/h. This was because they pointed strictly at the release point Unlike in 1979 when they captured a post-release average, which is why the fastest Thomson's 138.7 km/h look slower than his true release speeds

Absolutely. He was lethal.

First three dudes were pitching it too short for the speed gun! The fuller you bowled for this tech, the quicker it clocked you

Spied gun was measuring atleast 10 kph slower for all bowlers that day Account for error of 10 kph and exact speed will come

Jarrod Kimber will tell you there was some random guy that played in 1893 called Willard Spalding that used to bowl 150kph on pirate ships but it was never recorded

Didn't WI have another quick named rose or something who Wa quicker than both Holding & Roberts? I have heard Roberts more for his mean bouncer more than for pace. Just asking because I have read somewhere that the quickest was Thompson & Rose could be top 5 at that time.
