Fun facts: The most yards allowed by the Bears from 1984-86 was in 1985. 1984 - 3,863 1985 - 4,135 1986 - 4,130 They had more sacks in 1984 (72) than 1985 (64) and allowed fewer points in 1986 (187) than in 1985 (198). The playoff performance in 1985 is what vaulted that defense to legendary status. Statistically it was no better than 1984 or 1986.

@CheapSeats411 @312SportsCards1 @BearsNationCHI This is the defense the Bears need to go back to. Good, old-fashioned smash mouth football!

That was a frustrating game - Saturday windy, sunny and bitter cold. jet D played very well, the Bears O didnt do much, but our O was stagnant. some bad calls too as I recall.

The win against the Jets secured by the refs who negated a clear Kirk Springs 2nd quarter INT on a drive that subsequently resulted in a Bears TD (also aided by a bogus roughing call).

That team was must-see TV and credit to whomever scheduled them on so many MNF games BEFORE they were a national sensation. Didn't know they blitzed Wilbur and Otis from the same side. Genius! And all THREE LBs blitzing at once? Look out, motherfuckers!
