She argued instead of backing up. By the end of the encounter, she was headed to jail facing multiple criminal charges. West Palm Beach Police say the incident began after officers found Sarah Swanson driving the wrong way down a one-way street during an active public protest. Officers repeatedly instructed her to back up because she was blocking traffic and there were pedestrians, including children, nearby. Instead of complying, Swanson argued that she was trying to get home. Officers warned that if she refused to move, she would be removed from the vehicle and arrested. When she continued refusing lawful commands, she was taken into custody. While handcuffed, the encounter escalated. Officers offered to remove the handcuffs so she could perform field sobriety exercises in a less crowded area, but she refused to cooperate. During the confrontation, she a$saulted an officer, resulting in an additional felony charge. After being transported to the police holding facility, Swanson admitted she made a "wrong decision" by driving into the protest. She was ultimately booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of: - DUI (Driving Under the Influence) - Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer - Resisting Arrest Legally, Florida officers may detain and arrest a driver who refuses lawful commands during a traffic stop when public safety is at risk. Intentionally a$saulting or making unlawful physical contact with a law enforcement officer performing official duties can elevate the offense to Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, a felony under Florida law. Whether the DUI and other charges result in conviction is determined later through the court process.

Bank manager feels she gets to decide what rights people have on a public sidewalk. She calls the police and lucky for her she got a deputy that is just as ignorant about the laws and citizens rights as she is. Deputy L. Crawford of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was the officer that responded and tries her best to violate this man's rights. The reason the call came in from the bank manager was due to concern that the man was filming from the sidewalk and capturing sensitive customer data on their monitors. The first thing Deputy Crawford did when she arrived was to immediately attempt to trespass the man and demand his identification. The man remained on the city sidewalk, which is traditionally a public forum where filming is a protected right. Florida Law (§901.151): Under "Stop and Identify" statutes, an officer cannot legally demand ID unless they have Reasonable Articulable Suspicion (RAS) that a crime is being, has been, or is about to be committed. The man argued that if the bank didn't want their screens seen, they should have moved them or used privacy film. Legally, anything visible from a public space is generally fair game for a camera. The tension peaked when the deputy noted the man was "physically shaking" as a justification for a wellness check, while the man countered by saying he gets frustrated when dealing with a bad cop referring to her being "baited" into an illegal detention. Know your rights folks, do not allow ignorance to bully you out of them. Also that bank is terrible if it has any screens facing a public window. The bank is responsible for putting people's personal info at risk. Let me know if you agree or if you have a different take.

NURSE FILMS DYING PATIENTS Margaret Haywood spent 20 years as a nurse before deciding the truth mattered more than her career. In 2004 she agreed to wear a hidden camera for BBC Panorama BBC Panorama inside the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton, run at the time by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, now University Hospitals Sussex University Hospitals Sussex. The hospital had a 0-star rating from regulators and an £8m deficit. Numbers rarely lie, even when hospitals do. Over 28 shifts across 6 months she filmed what the trust did not want anyone to see. A patient left to die alone. Another left waiting hours just to use the toilet. The footage aired in 2005 as Undercover Nurses and the public was horrified. The Nursing and Midwifery Council Nursing and Midwifery Council was less horrified by the neglect than by the filming. In April 2009 they struck Haywood off the nursing register for breaching patient confidentiality. The backlash was instant. Over 43,000 people signed a Royal College of Nursing petition. An MP raised her case in Parliament. Turns out the public had a clearer sense of right and wrong than the regulator did. 3 days before her High Court appeal, the NMC quietly climbed down. Her ban was swapped for a 1 year caution and she got her job back. She later won the public vote at the Nursing Standard Nurse of the Year Awards. She exposed neglect. She got struck off first and thanked later. Punishment now, apology once the pressure gets loud enough, the standard NHS whistleblower timeline. Sources BBC Panorama Nursing and Midwifery Council

After the war, when Dany took King’s Landing with fire and blood, I believe she became a villain without even realizing it. Anyone who watched the series with a clear mind can see that. She told her soldiers and Jon Snow that the war would continue to “liberate the world.” In her mind, she was saving the world from tyrants. But she also believed only she knew what was right. Anyone who disagreed quickly became the enemy. From the beginning of her rise, she carried this “liberator with fire” mindset. Earlier, she burned enemies like: Randyll Tarly Dickon Tarly The slave masters in Meereen But the difference at King’s Landing is that this time innocent people died on a massive scale, instead of her targeting only the Red Keep. Two things stood out to me: 1. She turned into a villain The destruction of civilians showed she had become a tyrant, much like the ones she once fought against. 2. She didn’t see herself as a villain In her mind, she was still the hero bringing “freedom” to the world. That’s why Tyrion Lannister says something powerful: Everywhere she goes, evil men die and we cheer… until the day she decides we are the evil ones. Personally, the show suggests that Daenerys never believed she was evil, but she became dangerous because she thought her vision justified anything. In the end, Jon did what he believed was right. Duty became the death of love — not as Aemon once said, “Love is the death of duty.” What’s your take on this?

Many people felt uncomfortable after learning the real life story of the actress behind Angela Hayes in American Beauty (1999). “I was not being loved. I was just a body.” — Mena Suvari on surviving s*xual abuse, acting, and American Beauty. Suvari was first r@ped at age 12 by a friend of her older brother. He then told other people at school that she was a “wh*re”. She was so ashamed, she denied that it had happened. “That sucked the life out of me. I think that was just excessive confirmation that no one was going to save me, no one was going to do anything for me.” As a teenager starting out in Hollywood, she was repeatedly taken advantage of by a predatory manager before entering the ab*sive three-year relationship with the technician. One of her business advisers, in his mid-30s, who started having se× with her when she was 16. “I didn’t have anyone telling me, ‘That’s not right, that person shouldn’t be doing that with you’.” At her first modelling shoot, she says, “everyone was raving about how I looked 18. But I was 12.” she said angrily “What was communicated to me was that I was an adult, therefore I can act like an adult.” While filming America Beauty (1999), Mena Suvari described an "unusual" and "eerie" experience with Kevin Spacey while filming the 1999 movie American Beauty. Between filming scenes, Spacey took Suvari into a side room on set that had a bed, where they lay very close to one another. Suvari stated that Spacey was "gently holding" her while they lay there. She described the interaction as "very peaceful but weird and unusual". However, Suvari mentioned that Spacey did not make s*xual advances in that room, and she trusted him on set at the time. Suvari noted that years of ab*se made her uniquely prepared to play the hyper-s*xualised Angela Hayes. She stated that film sets became a strange refuge because she already knew exactly how to perform and dissociate. She wrote, "Oh, you want me to be s*xually attractive? Done."

🚨A woman in labor was put on a LIVE video court hearing… from her hospital bed… because she refused a C-section, in Florida. And she wasn’t “uninformed”… She’s a professional doula, and had already had THREE prior C-sections… one that caused a hemorrhage… and she was trying to avoid another dangerous surgery and a brutal recovery. She understood the risks. She even said during the hearing the risk of uterine rupture was under 2%… and that she would agree to a C-section if it became an actual emergency. That’s called informed consent. But, instead of respecting that… the hospital called the state attorney, who rushed to get a judge involved… And suddenly she’s in labor, in pain, being forced to defend her bodily autonomy, on a screen, in front of a room full of strangers. At one point she asked them: “Are any of you gonna help me bathe or shower? Are you gonna help change my pad? Are you gonna help lift the baby out of the bed and put me in the bed because I can’t lift my legs? Is anyone going to help me?” Silence. Because none of them have to live with the consequences of the surgery they were trying to force on her. Then, when she asked for a Black doctor or nurse… because Black women in the US are about 3.5x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women, and far more likely to have pain ignored, or dismissed, by providers… A white male judge actually questioned why that would matter. The f*cking audacity. In normal medical care, patients have the right to refuse treatment. Hospitals follow strict consent laws… You cannot be forced into surgery against your will. Except here. Because in Florida, pregnant women are somehow treated like they don’t have the same right to say no. When the emergency C-section finally happened, it lasted two and a half hours. Doctors had to cut around existing scar tissue, avoid her bladder, and the incision was an upside-down T, requiring a wound vac to help it heal. Recovery was brutal, and doctors told her she should never get pregnant again. But, if she did get pregnant again, would she be forced to carry out the pregnancy?

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents were filmed, once again, assaulting U.S. citizens outside the Kane County Courthouse, in St. Charles, Illinois. In the video, ICE agents are arresting a man while people film the arrest. A person tries to get information from the man, when an ICE agent suddenly moves toward her and another woman, pushes them back, while pointing an expandable baton at them, in a threatening manner. One woman tells the agent that she has a right to record… which he responds by shoving her. The agent then threatens the person filming, pointing his baton at them, and yells, “don’t follow me.” As if simply observing law enforcement is a crime… especially when there’s a clear physical barrier separating them. The First Amendment protects the right to record law enforcement in public. People filming, and not physically interfering, are exercising protected speech. The Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable seizures and excessive force. Physical pushing and threatening citizens with a baton, when they are not resisting or obstructing, raises serious questions about whether force is being used lawfully, or as intimidation. Excessive force standards, used by federal law enforcement, requires any force to be objectively reasonable based on an actual threat or interference… not simply the presence of people recording, or criticizing them. So, once again… Filming and observing is not interference. Standing in public is not a threat. And this is not about “respecting authority.” It’s about whether constitutional rights still apply when citizens are watching government agents do their jobs.

THE ROASTING OF LINDA GXASHEKA: A THREAD 🔥 Many people forget this specific episode of the EMPD saga, but we need to talk about Linda Gxasheka one of the 4 arrested officials. Let’s revisit the night she thought she was the chef, only to end up on the menu. I still vividly remember the sheer audacity and energy she brought when she pulled up to Dlangi’s Smokey Steakhouse back in February. She was on absolute fire during her appearance. You could tell she really thought she was that girl. She walked in genuinely believing she was the ultimate force sent to dismantle Dlangi’s kitchen. Little did she know, she wasn't dealing with amateurs. She was walking straight into a trap set by the country’s most highly decorated braai masters. Before we get to the grilling, let’s look at the ingredients in her folder. As the Head of HR at EMPD, the allegations against her were heavy. Word on the street was she was working overtime in the background. She was accused of colluding with "Imomomo" (Imogen Mashazi) to shield Julius Mkhwanazi, making sure he was completely untouchable. The reward for this elite protection service? A casual R600,000 salary increase. Nice work if you can get it, right? 💰🙄 But the main course was a shady R3.3 million transaction she allegedly facilitated. The money went straight to Cat Matlala’s wife’s shisanyama. The kicker? That shisanyama was conveniently registered just days before the tender was even advertised. Smells oily. When the heat turned up, she tried to play the ignorance card, denying she even knew Cat’s wife, Tsakane. But the moment Chef Chaskoko served up the cold, hard receipts right in front of her face, her composure completely evaporated into thin air. Her defense crumbled into pure panic: “Iyhoooo 😳, ooooooh mahn, yerrrr... I remember seeing something like this, you know? There was something off about it, shem, yaz. But I will speak to finance, they must explain!” The classic "it wasn't me" defense! That’s when Mama Sesi Baloyi "The Female Ganda-ganda" took over. She metaphorically pressed Linda's head against a steel braai stand, poking at her spinal cord with a fork. Total accountability. By the time Linda left that evening, she was humbled like a dog after releasing hot air in a crowded room. Literal charcoal! #MadlangaCommission #ProtectGeneralMkhwanazi
