This is one of those unfair things, but what can I say, it's how a lot of systems work around the world. These platforms just seem to not favour Africans, and it's nothing new at this point. I'm Nigerian, and I've been on Contra since early January, consistently posting my work. Still, I haven't gotten a single enquiry. Not one. I even tried onboarding one of my direct clients there to boost my profile, this is actually the second time I've done it and nothing. Meanwhile, here's someone who's not African or probably not even in Africa, making a million. Why do these platforms keep African creatives in the dark like we don't exist? Especially when Africa has some of the best creatives you'll find anywhere. But they still choose not to favour us. I even sent a complaint to Contra about my visibility, but they didn't respond. It's well. We'll all make it one way or another.

Contra is underrated as a platform. Most freelancers are still fighting on Upwork where price is the only differentiator. On Contra you can actually build a brand and charge for positioning. $1M proves the ceiling is real.
