2/ Brooklyn Park police have now confirmed they responded to shots fired about that time near Kipling Apartments at 55xx 96th Ave N. No injuries but a vehicle was struck. And the person said they don't know who shot at them.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call at a used car dealership in the area of Hopkins Street and Dundas Street East. Extremely sad story…. Billy Schmidt was shot and killed near his home in South Philadelphia around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6. The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Durfor Street. Schmidt, a senior at Penn State, was set to graduate in December. Police said they believed Schmidt was shot during a robbery. Police are asking anyone with information about the killing or these suspects to contact homicide detectives. The City of Philadelphia offers a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
