That's really cool. 4D Gaussian Splatting running in the browser by Gmix. Went somehow under the radar with the #Sora release.

Single video → a reframeable 4D Gaussian Splatting scene. Not a sequence of separately built 3D frames played back like a video. This is one continuous space-time scene, reconstructed from a single clip shot on an iPhone 16. We combine feed-forward Gaussian generation, 3D tracking, and 4D Gaussian Splatting, aiming to deliver it as a compact 4D video file that runs on your phone. Still early R&D. The goal: make 4DGS something anyone can create and experience, not just researchers with a camera rig.

75 RED cameras shooting at 8K/120fps, capturing an entire live performance in a single take. What happens when you push 4D Gaussian Splatting to its limit?

RetimeGS Continuous-Time Reconstruction of 4D Gaussian Splatting TL;DR: A new 4D Gaussian Splatting representation designed to render at arbitrary timesteps, even when the input contains relatively large inter-frame motion. Abstract (excerpt): Most existing 4D Gaussian Splatting (4DGS) methods overfit at discrete frame indices but struggle to represent continuous-time frames, leading to ghosting artifacts when interpolating between timestamps. We identify this limitation as a form of temporal aliasing and propose RetimeGS, a simple yet effective 4DGS representation that explicitly defines the temporal behavior of the 3D Gaussian and mitigates temporal aliasing. To achieve smooth and consistent interpolation, we incorporate optical flow-guided initialization and supervision, triple-rendering supervision, and other targeted strategies. Together, these components enable ghost-free, temporally coherent rendering even under large motions.

Playing more with the 4D Gaussian Splatting scene in Blender, trying to learn each transformation myself, to get from the initial point-cloud to the various final renders. Also reminder that you can find the Blender file on #b3d

It was harder than I thought, but I promised and therefore I delivered. This is a 4D reconstruction of a pitcher's throw, using OpenBiomechanics 8-camera setup & Gaussian splatting. It achieves 24.3 dB, BETTER than @lukeblomm's 22.1, and captures the background super well!
