The ACC just had an excellent season, with its premier program Clemson not contributing, but apparently they’re “secret garbage.” • National Championship appearance • Miami by themselves won as many CFP games as the entire 5-bid SEC. • Winning record vs. the SEC (for the second time in the last three years. Five consecutive wins over the SEC to end last season). • Virginia just won 11 games. • SMU is 20-7 in two years at the Power 4 level. • Georgia Tech had their best season since 2016. • Duke won 9 games for the third time in the last four years. • Louisville won 9+ games for a third consecutive season. • 9-4 Wake Forest just had their best season since 2021 in their first year under Jake Dickert. • FSU, in the midst of a 2-6 year in ACC play, smoked Alabama. Dabo Swinney and Clemson had a bad year for the first time since 2010 and weren’t in the mix at all, and the ACC was still extremely competitive. And the narrative is somehow that they are an “afterthought of a conference.”

Chadron St went into Golden and left with a big 34-28 victory over 21/RV CO Mines, improving their conference record to 2-0! Chadron’s rushing attack came up big for the Eagles, as they racked up an impressive 261 yards on the ground. Dual threat QB Aidan Thompson led the team with 106 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD, while Quincey Ryker also went over the century mark with 101 rushing yards. Along with his 106 rushing yards, Thompson also had 144 passing yards and 3 passing TDs! Chadron’s defense was solid as always, and for the second weekend in a row, the Eagles’ punt and kickoff coverages were impressive! New signing Gabriel Jesus would come on for the second half and turn the game on its head with Arsenal winning 5-3. Jesus scored twice and had another 2 goals go down as own goals. Arsenal won every pre season game & won 9 of their opening 10 Premier League games. Many believe this was the game when Arsenal transitioned from a Top 6 team into serious title contenders.

Hanging out with the Irish fans all week in Miami was a treat; I learned that they created football, and without them, the game as we know it could never be played. However, after just 15 minutes of football, I couldn’t find any of them, as AJ McCarron, Eddie Lacy, Amari Cooper and the greatest offensive line in college football history completely took control of the game. Alabama led 28-0 at halftime, and Brian Kelly remarked that the only way Notre Dame had a chance in the second half was if Alabama chose not to come out of the locker room. This National Championship game was one of my favorite games to cover. Let’s give a shoutout with a “Roll Tide” for this incredible group of players! The senior class achieved an impressive feat, winning three National Championships in four years—a rarity that we may never see again in college football.
