My favorite Liverpool player ever before M Salah. I still remember this match like it was 20 days ago. Gerrard scored 2goals against the west ham goal keeper at the final and another 2goals against him at the World Cup when England beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-0.

What a night that was! 20 years on and ‘The Gerrard Final’ still gives me goosebumps. From 3-0 down at half-time, the whole world wrote us off… then Stevie drags the team back single handedly with that header, that rocket from Hamann, and THAT tackle on Shevchenko in extra time. This is pure captain’s performance. 💪

I was there 💯, this is one of the reasons I can’t compare Gerrard with any other player. He thrilled us with the quality of his performances.
