200 vegetable packages were distributed in the Yarmouk Camp in Khan Younis, donate: Each package had 1.5 kilos of eggplants and 1 kilo of molokhye and cost $43 per bag with 10% commission. Yesterday we managed to secure 250 kilos of vegetables in the South: 96 kilos of eggplants and 150 kilos of molokhye. Support here: . The cost was $20 per kilo for the eggplant and $15 per kilo for the molokhye. These prices include 10% commission so total is $4,170. 33 packages with 1 kilo of eggplants and 1.5 kilos of molokhye were given to the Refaat Alareer camp residents. Additionally, we made 67 packages of molokhye (1 kilo each) and 76 packages of eggplant (1 kilo each) and distributed to random people on the street and tents in Zawayde and Sawarha area, feeding around 70-80 families. The situation is really dire and finding food is highly risky with our team members roaming the markets in the heat and with barely any nutrition. We are providing them with peanut butter bites to increase their calorie intake. Yesterday our team visited a camp called Atshana (translates to thirsty) and is located right next to the Sowerky cemetery in Deir El Balah. The camp is in bad condition and don’t get aid or support, donate: The Sameer Project team distributed 147 packages with 1.5 kilos of eggplants in each bag. The cost for each bag is $29.25 so the whole distribution cost around $4,300. One meal of eggplants alone for a family costs around $30 and these vegetables are sourced from farms running under big risks. These prices don’t include cooking oil, sauces or spices. Earlier this week we distributed 51 pairs of shoes in Asqalan camp in Khan Younis, support: Today our team can’t reach this camp because a new displacement map was issued preventing people from the Central area to go to Khan Younis. This is disastrous as 400 to 500 thousand people are in Khan Younis with no access to aid, including Nasser hospital. They are now locked in and can’t leave. With the high temperatures, many children are barefoot and getting diseases so these distributions help prevent that. Each pair of sneakers we got was $13.65 so for the 51 shoes, the total including 10% commission was around $700. Tomorrow, Saturday, there is a rainstorm in Gaza that will last 4 days. Unfortunately camps will get flooded and people will get sick from the cold. The genocide in Gaza didn’t end. Donate now: The Sameer Project is providing tarps, blankets and tents that are purchased from the market in Gaza. 25% of the aid is being allowed in since the “ceasefire” so prices are not affordable to most Palestinians in Gaza. On December 21st, The Sameer Project set up 3 tents in Karama Camp, Bureij, Central Gaza. The total cost was $635 with 9% commission. Did you know that the 2 million Palestinians in Gaza are crammed in 25% of the strip? Many people from Khan Younis were displaced to the Central area making camps extremely overcrowded with multiple families sharing one tent. Finding empty space has become extremely difficult. Six days a week the Sameer Project provides 16,000 liters of water per day in Central Gaza. The salinity of the water coming from each truck is checked before distribution for all our water campaigns. Nasser camp in Nuseirat got 150 packages with 1.5 kilos of eggplants in each bag. Each bag cost around $26.85 with 10% commission. The total cost for packages was $4,028. Donate: You will notice that eggplant prices differ on different posts. The reason being that a kilo of eggplants can be 55 shekels / $16.25 one day and 65 shekels / $19.5 the next day. In a genocide & famine tje prices fluctuate not only from day to day but from hour to hour. This is why having liquidity to secure the good deals once they pop up is essential. We didn’t stop, we won’t stop! Our daily water distributions in the Central area continue. We distributed 24,000 liters of fresh water yesterday, July 26th. Donate: 8,000 liters to Asqalan camp, 8,000 liters to Karama camp and 8,000 liters to Masdar camp. All these camps are in Deir El Balah. Thanks to your support we’ve been able to increase our 16,000 liters to 24,000 liters multiple times a week providing these overcrowded camps with much needed hydration. Schools have turned into shelters for the displaced in Gaza and even those are often bombed, donate: Not a single place in Gaza is safe and there’s no such thing as a safe zone. 2,540 meals of rice were distributed by the Sameer Project on August 6th feeding around 7,620 people. Total cost was $14,345 with 11% commission. 600 meals were given to the school shelter in Nuseirat and surrounding camps and more meals were given to camps in Deir El Balah. The civil defense team gets their 40 daily rice meals as well.
