Most noisy CR7 fans didn't watch him in this particular season. He was on another level in 2011/12. I was privileged to watch most of these astonishing goals. In fact, it was peak banter era with my friends who were Man U / Ronaldo fans. They didn't want to hear anything aside from Ronaldo and his screamers. But something always gave me the edge over them: when they were happy in the afternoon, Messi would still 'show them pepper' in the evening or late at night (since La Liga matches were often late). When I was a kid, every other kid I played football with in Nigeria wanted to be like @Cristiano. At that time, he was playing for @ManUtd. He was super entertaining to watch and oh, my was he terrifying to the opponents. We all tried to learn one or two skills from his videos and I was always dressed from head to toes, in Cristiano Ronaldo stuffs. We didn't have good phones then, people always go to tech shops to download compilation videos of his skills. I will never forget those days. To this day, he is still going strong after conquering 3 different leagues. When people who never witnesses those days say that Christiano Ronaldo has an equal, I don't blame them.
