John Oaksey’s bungee jump. Working with him at Uttoxeter. For an IJF donation he agreed to “skydive” as part of the show. He got harnessed, opened a hip flask, had a huge swig of whisky and whoosh! His final words to me….. “the last is all yours boy” .Just a wonderful man.

My goodness, when racing on terrestrial tv was informative and FUN - and not forced fun, just filled with characters who had natural wit and also loved the sport.

We knew it was good, but I wonder if we realised at the time just how bloody good Highflyer and their fantastic team really were. Lovely memories of a wonderful time to be involved with British horseracing.
