The funniest part of JD Vance’s speech is the ending: “I am angry about the rise of China… but I am most angry that American leadership let it happen.” Let it happen? As if China’s rise was an American clerical error. As if 1.4 billion people industrialized because Washington forgot to lock the door. China was sanctioned, contained, smeared, tariffed, and technologically strangled. And still it became the world’s strongest industrial economy. India had the population. India had English. India had earlier access to the WTO. India had Western approval, “democracy” branding, and decades of geopolitical courtship. Capital still chose China. Factories still chose China. Supply chains still chose China. Why? Because civilization is not built by flattering Washington. It is built by infrastructure, discipline, engineers, workers, logistics, electricity, education, and state capacity. America’s next ten years are not about competing with China. That phase is already over. America is now competing with India for who can disappoint capital less. China’s real opponent was never America. Despite these, India toured Pakistan in 2004, and Pakistan toured India in 2005. Then came: Delhi Bombing (2005): 60 dead, 200+ injured after Pakistan's cricket tour. Varanasi Bombing (2006): 28 killed in temple & railway station blasts. Mumbai Train Bombing (2006): 200 killed, 700+ injured in serial blasts. I guess Charles Hoskinson makes a good point. And yes, it's right. Our lives were not different back in 2021 when Cardano was at $100B mcap. And I do think most people are angry because $ADA is tanking. But it's been 5 years since then and nothing has changed. We didn't change the world. We didn't change our lives. We are pretty much in same situation just with less money (or at least the diamond hands lol). Yet I have 2 questions: - Is the mission still to change the world? That's what I signed up for, but it feels more far away than last year. - If IOG gets funded every year for the next 5, will we achieve that? If that's a yes for both, I'm happy with that answer. I still do believe some of the proposals should've been revisited. But I'm a nobody, just a random Saturday opinion.

🚩🚩The NZ Govt has put up its NZ Trade and Export page to encourage NZ businesses to relocate to India. The main selling point ? - ‘ CHEAP LABOUR’. This deal will gut what is left of NZ’s manufacturing, and Luxon is all for it. As per the trade agreement with India NZ will facilitate $35 Billion of investment from NZ into India over 15 years. Thirty five billion. The expected exports we will earn over this time is a paltry $500 Million in extra exports a year. At the moment NZ exports a tiny $500m a year to India, National are saying this will grow to 1 billion. To put this into context, NZ exports $10 billion to Australia, and $9.5 billion to the U.S (where we endure tariffs & do not have a FTA). Is this sounding like a good deal? In the interview below Todd Mclay lets the cat out of the bag, admitting we could not get a deal on our dairy as dairy is the cornerstone of India’s unsophisticated economy so they will guard it zealously. Micro dairy farms throughout India are a key source of Income domestically for the masses of poor people. India wants to modernise this and commercialise it rapidly, which is why the FTA also stipulates NZ is to ‘share innovation (IP) and technology to modernise India’s dairy sector’ …. Do you really think they will ever let us sell dairy to India? I have a bridge for sale if you do. The median income in India in 2026 is NZD $400 a month, $100 a week. wtf are they ever going to buy off us ? Fonterra could for example open a plant there and process our value added products’. NZ has been here before, exporting raw product to overseas and buying it back in as a finished product, think forestry. In the interview he also inadvertently admits the deal cannot be changed once signed. Mclay lets it slip that ‘India cannot change the deal once signed’ Which by deduction means neither can NZ. And it gets worse. Hipkins admits that India will more than likely enforce the $35 billion investment as India has set up an office to ensure it happens, but Hipkins is still happy to sign the deal anyway - ‘it’s up-to business’ he says regarding the risk. And then an all time shocker, Mclay tells Hoskings that other parties will come around or they’ll get punished by 100 Nz businesses, and by ‘350,000 Indian voters in NZ’. Which is probably why Labour supports it. National and Labour are fighting over the Indian vote. Here’s the deal, anytime in 15 years if India doesn’t feel like it’s sucking enough life out of NZ it can kill the deal, which you can guarantee the NZ govt will then drop to their knees to offer anything to India to keep it… like I don’t know, unlimited immigration. Today is #RajivGandhi’s 35th death anniversary. In March 2013 I became the first and till date, the only Indian journalist to visit the bunker of the man who ordered his assassination — LTTE Chief Velupillai Prabhakaran. I was then a reporter with IndiaToday magazine & granted rare access to the erstwhile LTTE-controlled northern region where thousands of LTTE fighters and civilians had died in the final phase of Eelam War IV in May 2009. We saw the exact spot, Nanthikadal, where Prabhakaran was gunned down by troops of the Sri Lankan Army’s 53rd division. Prabhakaran lay on his back on a patch of mud-soaked grass, eyes wide, his head blown open by a high-caliber weapon. The Lankan soldiers had shown Prabhakaran as much mercy as he had shown former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991. For someone who had followed India’s fascinating and bloody entanglement in Sri Lanka through India Today magazine, and the exclusives of Shekhar Gupta through the 1980s, this was a dream story. How did a print story become a TV exclusive ? I’ll admit to some journalistic sleight-of-hand here. The Sri Lankan authorities had cleared us to report a print story, but we also shot high-res video footage on DSLR (standard-issue for print photographers). The story eventually played across all India Today group properties— TV, Mail Today and the magazine. Five months after our story broke, the Sri Lankan army filled the bunker with explosives and destroyed it.
