spoiler about the new songs!!! 🐹: ah seriously, the new song.. it's a mini album but.. among these songs, there are 3 songs that i.. all of the songs are great, but these 3 songs especially, including the title track, will be xdiz's bangers once again, great enough that you'd want to keep listening to them. also, if i were to brag about something, it's been a while since "fire", i think.. at least i don’t remember having any since then. but for the first time in a while, two songs that i wrote the lyrics for are included. so i feel even more attached to this album. especially one of those two songs, i worked really hard on it, revising it a lot. i put a lot of effort and care into the lyrics. personally, i already love the song itself, and since the final result came out as well as the amount of effort i put into it, i feel even more attached to it.

Today is the anniversary of my sophomore album Spirit. My first album was so successful that the pressure to follow it up was immense. Every interview I did, the journalist would high light this, and tell me all about the ‘sophomore slump’. I had never meant to write ‘hits’. I just wrote songs as medicine for myself, and they turned out to be hits. Massive hits 🤷‍♀️ . In fact ‘you were meant for me’ went on to be the longest running single in HISTORY. Crazy.

sunghoon comeback spoiler 🐧 well… the songs are already out there anyway. they were in that preview, right? our album preview? the one where they released little snippets of the songs. 🐧 but honestly, i think every song on this album is really good. there are songs made for performing, and there are also songs you can just sit back and listen to comfortably. 🐧 my favorite song on the new album is ‘bloody paradise’. i loved it the moment i heard it. my second favorite is ‘highlight.’ 🐧 highlight and checkmate seem like they’d be so much fun to do at a concert, and i really like bloody paradise. if ‘hoonife’ was like street-style tteokbokki then ‘bloody paradise’ is like tteokbokki you’d eat at a restaurant. that’s the kind of vibe it has. 😭😭😭

TAP by TAEYONG was introduced as one of the best songs of the first half of 2024 in MUVE music magazine podcast jung minjae (music critic): the song i recommend is TAP by taeyong. it was released on february 26 and was his second mini album. he released such a great album, but then he went off to the military right after releasing it, which was a shame. to be honest, at the time, i worked really hard to try to get him to appear on our show MUVE, but his enlistment date was too close. by the time the album came out, it was already impossible to make it happen. although we couldn’t have him on the show in the end, i can’t help but think how amazing it would’ve been if he had more time to release the album and carry out a variety of promotions leisurely. after all, taeyong created this entire album himself. every song is self-composed. when you think of nct, there’s often a perception that their music is difficult, abstract, and not easy to approach. but this album retains taeyong's unique color while also being very appealing to a wider audience. it’s such a well-balanced work that strikes the perfect balance between artistry and appeal, and it’s such a great performance piece as well. i think TAP is one of the standout achievements in k-pop dance music this year. and the fact that it’s self-composed makes it even more remarkable. i really hope we get to meet taeyong next time!
