24 year old Spaniard David Puig shot a 3 under par 67 to climb inside the top 10 of the PGA Championship, just 3 shots off the lead. It’s the highest position he’s held after any round of a major and he spoke about how that feels: “No, yeah, very excited. I get up every day for weeks and days like today. I'm really excited about the weekend. I think obviously I could do some things better, hopefully the weekend. “But I think I've been getting a little better year after year, and I definitely got to this major championship as best prepared as I ever was, and compared to the other ones that I played. “So really excited to have some sort of late tee time on a Saturday at a major championship, and I'll give my best and hopefully it's good.” David played with 21 year old Aldrich Potgieter today and they are both the new school of modern player, who absolutely send it off the tee. 🔱 Dominic Canzone Long Post 🔱 When the Mariners acquired Canzone last month in exchange for Paul Sewald, most people had never really heard of him. He wasn’t a top prospect and he wasn’t lighting the world on fire. Here’s a quick recap on his numbers with Triple-A Reno this season: .354 AVG, .431 OBP, .634 SLG, 13.2 K% 12.8 BB%, .449 wOBA, 16 HR, 150 wRC+ Canzone never had a wRC+ lower than 107 at any stop in the minor leagues and for his entire minor league career, he had a .933 OPS with a wRC+ of 134. He can hit. Of course, minor league numbers ultimately mean next to nothing once you get to the major leagues. Arizona called him up in July and started playing nearly every day, mostly as a platoon bat. Here are his numbers as a Diamondback: .237 AVG, .293 OBP, .368 SLG, 19.5 K% 4.9 BB%, .290 wOBA, 1 HR, 80 wRC+ Not all that great, and that’s what most people saw when Seattle acquired him for their star reliever. Here were his expected stats: .283 AVG, .336 OBP, .476 SLG .353 xwOBA, 90.3 MPH Average Exit Velo That .353 xwOBA is better than Justin Turner, Josh Naylor, Francisco Lindor, Jake Burger, and many other players. Jaylen Brown was not traded. Jaylen Brown was salary-dumped. The Celtics canvassed the league asking for anyone who might be interested. They were rebuffed. Repeatedly. They could not manage to get a Tre Murphy swap with fillers. They couldn't manage to get a Jrue Holiday + picks package. In the end, the Sixers offer was underwhelming, but it was the best one they had. And the Celtics learned what many front offices have known for a while. Top 25-30 players who get paid top 10 money become bottom 100 assets, even in their prime. The Celtics paid Jaylen Brown for the same reason the Clippers paid Paul George. They wanted to max out the contention window for their star by re-signing their supporting caste. It's a trap many teams fall into when trying to max contention windows. Klay got the bag post ACL injury because the Warriors wanted to help Steph. Myles got paid so the Bucks could help Giannis. Hell, right now the Raptors are about to pay Kawhi Leonard 170+ million over 3 years to help open up Scottie Barnes' window. But the reality is grim. 29ppg isn't enough anymore. Not without the impact, efficiency, defense and making your teammates better. Brown wasn't a great defender this year. He's an aggressive but less than superstar level scorer... And at nearly 60 million a year, with the analytical impact and player profile of an borderline All Star, the Celtics bet that Paul George + picks was worth getting off of one additional year of Jaylen Brown. It's not a popular decision. But it's reality. Front offices don't value him. Just like they didn't value Ja, BI and Trae Young. Learn the lesson. Takeshi Kitano explains how The Yakuza were influential & an important part of his childhood: "Interviewer: Let's talk about your background. Kitano: I was born and raised in Tokyo. My father was a house painter, and allegedly used to be a Yakuza, and if not, was generally just an outrageous kind of character. My mother was a very hard-working woman who would work in the bean cake factory during the day, and at night would work manufacturing children's toys, part-time. She was very education-minded, and was very keen on having her son get a better education so we could get out of these poor conditions in 50's and 60's Japan. My neighborhood was a typical working class area. Most of my neighbors were either Yakuza, or craftsmen. Japan was going through rapid growth economically at the time, so my mother told us kids to concentrate on scientific studies like engineering, subjects that were practically advantageous in terms of getting a good job. So as a kid, I was never allowed to read comics, read novels, watch films. I had to concentrate on my studies, which led me to the engineering department at the university. Interviewer: So that's where your fascination with the Yakuza comes from. You grew up around them. Kitano: That's true. Actually, in my neighborhood amongst us kids, there were two types of people that were considered cool: professional baseball players and Yakuza, who usually dressed and looked really cool. The Yakuza were always very good to us kids. They would give us allowance money, buy us candy, and things like that. At the same time, they played an education role. If they found us having a smoke, or drinking, they would scold us. They would say things like "Always be very kind to your parents and stay in school, otherwise you'll end up like me," which was very weird, right? But it also got through to me." It was so high that people at the very top looked tiny, like being at a massive concert. Mark: Was it completely packed? Ping: Packed! Mark: 20,000 people is a lot! Ping: I was so nervous and excited. Teshow loves playing basketball, so he was like, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in front of a crowd this big!" Mark: And representing Thailand on top of that! Ping: Teshow was saying, "I won't let GMMTV down!" Mark: But as soon as you stepped onto the court... Ping: We froze! Yesterday I was moving into a new apartment, and I had some help from a couple of guys who do moving work. I first noticed something when I went to pick them up at Home Depot. While talking to the older man, he received a call and answered, “Yes, commander, I’ll call you back.” I ignored it at first. Fast forward to when we got home and started loading and moving stuff. Another call came in from the same “commander,” this time on speaker. The moment I heard the voice, I knew something was wrong, and the man didn’t realize it. On the phone, they were asking him for $2,000, saying the girl he was supposed to marry next week was sick and needed money for treatment, even though she’s supposedly a military nurse according to her profile. I signaled him and muted the call. I told him to ask for the commander’s name, and he did. The guy said his name was “Marthin” and then “Martinez” 😂. I took the phone and said something, and the scammer immediately hung up when he heard my accent. A few minutes later, he called again, asking why the man had handed the phone to someone else and claiming it was against their “security rules.” I took the phone again and cursed him out. I told the man to block them, which he did. Then he showed me many more messages he’d been receiving. The man was already far gone into the scam. I’m glad I was able to stop him from being scammed. These people really work hard for their money, really hard. I told him it’s better to get a new phone line.

Whenever I do the Alex jones show everyone calls him a shill and asks why I do it. He’s got a big heart and I like him. But after this new stance it will be increasingly hard to defend him against the shill allegations. The YouTube channel he says is “all about lesbianism” is a sketch candace Owens did at her boyfriend’s dorm about dealing adderall. It’s literally a comedy sketch without any reference to lesbianism. It’s so easy to verify. Meanwhile, his bff Nick Fuentes wants to get rid of the age of consent. Nick being into adult men is the best case scenario…. I’m not white knighting, but as someone who’s been on the other end of these media attacks I always wondered why more people didn’t call out the shills. It’s because they don’t want to be ostracized by an “ally.” Or they didn’t want to lose money. Well, I don’t think that way. In fact, I feel a moral obligation to call out Alex jones for this insane shit. If anyone wants to ostracize me for not being ok with aggressive lying then that’s a win win. I didn’t move to rural America one year after being a lead on a sitcom because I love fake ambitious “friends” who puppet demons for slightly better sneakers. A cool, sane, moral person wouldn’t even be mad at me saying this. They’d be like “my bad. Oh yeah I was wrong good call. And since my attack was public it totally makes sense why your defense of the attacked target is public as well.
