Controversial view here: I bow to nobody in my love of Stevie Wonder. He's a fabulous singer, great keyboard and harmonica player, but not a brilliant drummer. He cd play drums, but listen to, say, Jeff Porcaro or Bernard Purdie to get a sense of what a real drummer sounds like

That’s remarkable. I‘ve never seen this before. Remember this young man is blind plays numerous instruments that he taught himself primarily keyboards and is known for his singing &song writing since adolescence. Stevie Wonder the only musical genius America has ever produced.

Great clip. His grooves on Higher Ground, Sir Duke, and Superstitious were insane, but nothing beats that pocket he had on I Wish.

SW apparently has a great sense of humor. Relative of mine, an audio guy, was doing studio work with him. SW misplaced some gear. Relative went off to look for it. When he came back and said he couldn’t find it, SW “looked” right at him and said, “What’s the matter, you blind?”
