Ana Sayfaya Dön

21 years ago tonight, the Red Sox pulled off the greatest comeback in MLB history. I've watched this clip a million times & will likely watch it a million more. In fact, at my funeral, just play this on loop with a note that says "he got to see...

I went to college in St. Louis (still live here and work for my Alma mater). After game 6, all my friends were celebrating in the dorm with me, happy to see us stick it to the Yanks. After game 7, no one celebrated cause they all thought “oh shit we have to play these guys”

We don't talk enough about how Wakefield got to close out the 2004 ALCS after getting walked-off in 2003. The ultimate redemption arc.

In a true act of class... They asked George if they should start dimming the lights during the celebration and eventually turn them off He said no He said they earned it and to leave the lights on as long as they wanted Got to hand it to George in that moment

That Game 7 was like a frat party. Papi, Damon (Grand slam!) and Bellhorn dropping dingers extinguishing and chance of life from the Chokees. THE BEST!!!

It was unbelievable. I got emotional thinking of all the older guys I worked with who were lifelong Red Sox fans who never got to see that moment. I will never forget that team.

@FitzyGFY I was teaching diving in Roatan, Honduras, when this happened. A diver told me the Sox were down 3 games to the NYY. Next week a diver said they were winning the World Series. Me, ‘don’t lie, they lost last week’. To prove it, he took me to watch the final game at a beach bar…

Ill never forget being in the AOL baseball chatroom that night. 95% yankee fans to start, only one was left at the end. He said "As long as ive been alive the Red Sox have never beaten the Yankees. I won't believe it until I see it". Alan Embree made him believe lol

The weirdest, most hilarious thing was seeing this clip in one of the most unlikeliest of places, an episode of the series "Lost", Sox fan Jack, presumed dead, locked up, seeing his team win the World Series for the first time in 86 years, it was such a cool and unexpected scene.

What a moment! ⚖️ Nostalgia hits hard, but also time moves on. TBH, can we relive it forever?

Went to game 3 thinking of something my father said after the 1986 debacle “they will not win the WS in my lifetime”. Sadly dad passed in the summer of 2003 so he was right - but - as a lifetime Sox fan he would have savored this moment.

I was watching this in a bar in Santa Clara, CA and I think they were ready to come for me with the butterfly nets with how manic I was.

I don't know if another series will give me what I felt during that ALCS again in my lifetime. Those were my players that season was painful at times and fantastic at others. Nomar getting traded was devastating but looking back necessary. What a ride I'm glad I was on.

I remember this and the World Series that year. I was only 13, but I’ll never forget what it felt like to watch those wins.
