You can see in the replay Giambi was safe. Tag missed the front leg and hit the back leg after front toe landed on the bag.

Jason Giambi said that when he was signed the main reason he wanted to be a Yankee is to see them practice that play. Which is what Jeter said about his flip, "we practice that."

This is a time when the Yankees, actually had leadership and grit to win.

And he's considered an overrated SS by so many.. LoL

Lost in this amazing play by DJ is Posada’s tag and holding onto the baseball even with Giambi’s left knee hitting the glove and ball. Watching this live I damn near hit the ceiling as I jumped off my couch
