🌀 25 years ago today: TOOL released 'Lateralus.'⁠ ⁠ When did you first hear it? When did you last listen to it?

One of my favourite albums. I first heard tracks from the album when it was released. I listen to songs from that album almost daily. An absolute classic. So many incredible songs. 'The Grudge', 'The Patient', 'Schism', 'Parabol' and 'Parabola', 'Dispositon', but most of all I love 'Lateralus' - that is my 'power song'. 🌀 Anyway, great album. Grateful @Tool made it so!

I went to the record store at midnight and bought the CD. Pre 9/11. A better time.

I listen to TOOL frequently... a few times a week, which is down from everyday.. mostly because I'm in meetings.

The weed-smoking juijitsu guys at my gym introduced me to it in 2007. Most recently listened to several Lateralus songs this morning on my TOOL Pandora station.

Day 1. Right now. The Grudge is how my brain talks to me.

I’ve listened to their masterpiece Undertow 1000s of times. I listened to this once and was so bored - never had to listen again.

Sadly I’m a bit of a new fan, I listened to this first on January 22, and since then, it’s become my fav TOOL record by far. Favorite track is Parabola.

Maybe even the best Tool album. Transcendental.

Bought CD at the midnight sale at Joe Nardone’s Gallery Of Sound. Drove around all night listening to it. When the groove riff of The Grudge hit, a nexus event happened in my life.

The end of junior year in high school for me. I was fortunate to see them Tool and King Crimson at Red Rocks a few months later!

This album changed my life forever.

Title track still th best ‘drop’ in metal music today when it hits.

A record store near me called Melodies & Memories had it a week early. My neighbor ran up to my back door holding a copy and freaking out. I immediately jumped in my car and went and bought it. When I first put it on the volume was way too loud. Scared the shit out of me.

1st heard it when it got released and continued to listen since 😄
