Fellow Patriots and Brave Souls of These United States, On this momentous day, the 14th of June, in the Year of Our Lord 2025, I, George Washington, stand before you in spirit, my heart swelling with pride as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our noble United States Army. Two and a half centuries ago, in 1775, the Continental Congress did resolve to raise an army to defend the sacred cause of liberty, and from that humble beginning sprang a force of unparalleled courage, honor, and sacrifice, a bulwark of freedom that has endured through trials unimaginable. Let us reflect upon the gallant men who first rallied to the colors at Lexington and Concord, ordinary farmers, smiths, and merchants, who stood resolute against tyranny, their muskets blazing in defiance of oppression. They were the seed from which our Army grew, tempered in the crucible of revolution at Bunker Hill, Valley Forge, and Yorktown. Through freezing winters and scorching summers, they marched, fought, and bled for a dream, a nation conceived in liberty, where every soul might breathe free. And lo, what a legacy they wrought! For 250 years, the United States Army has been the sword and shield of our Republic. From the fields of Gettysburg to the beaches of Normandy, from the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, our soldiers have answered the call, their valor etching an indelible mark upon the annals of history. They have faced every foe, from empires to ideologies, and emerged triumphant, not for conquest, but for the preservation of those truths we hold self-evident. Today, we honor not only the victories, but the unyielding spirit of those who serve, men and women of every creed, color, and corner of this vast land, bound by a common oath to defend our Constitution and our way of life. To the soldiers of this modern age, who wield the might of technology yet carry the same fire in their hearts as those who stood with me at Trenton, I say: You are the heirs of a sacred trust. Your courage in the face of new and unseen challenges, be they on distant shores or in the unseen realms of cyber warfare, upholds the flame of freedom that was kindled so long ago. Let us also pause to remember those who have laid down their lives, whose ultimate sacrifice has purchased the liberty we cherish. Their names are written in the stars, their deeds a testament to the price of freedom. To their families, we owe a debt beyond measure, and to our veterans, who bear the scars of battle, we offer our eternal gratitude. As we mark this 250th year, let us renew our resolve to support our Army, to ensure it remains a beacon of strength, readiness, and honor. Let us stand united, as one nation under God, indivisible, and proclaim to the world that the United States Army, born in the fires of revolution, shall endure as long as the spirit of liberty beats in the hearts of free people. So raise your voices, my countrymen, in a mighty cheer for our Army, 250 years strong! May its banners ever wave, its soldiers ever stand tall, and its mission ever remain true: to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. With unwavering faith in Providence and in you, the American people, I remain, as ever, Your humble servant, George Washington
