BS life of the facility is 80 years, - but isn’t the UK shutting down Hinkley Point C 20 years earlier than expected due to cracking, and it’s going to take 95 years to decommission it. @LNP is so full blarney even the leprechauns are fed up.

Deceitful Dutton’s nuclear brain fart gets more on the nose the longer you have to smell his emissions.

Since when can a volume, m³, be compared with a tennis court? How high would the waste be on the tennis court?

The Coke can came from NUCLEAR BOY. And it's 26 MILLION not thousand Producing ALL the energy a person uses every year by N would result in a regular household brick's worth or 3kg/yr A can of Coke weighs ~ 400g. How much is high level is irrelevant as it can't be seperated.

And what happens to the waste after 80 years? Didn’t hear anyone address the elephant in the room.

And btw there are no commercial SMR viable and operating in the world. I also thought Spud was talking large reactors in the free of fee Frontier plan that Coalition don’t own

Hey Dazza, given their Instagram post about the health effects of nuclear reactors why are the ALP putting our sailors at such high risk by buying nuclear subs? I thought they were for the workers?

It’s not waste, it’s strategic energy reserve, 95 % of the waste will be u235 and u238, seperate the fission products and its fuel, the fission products are nasty but they have a short half life, the actinides can be fissioned in a gen 4 fast reactor, besides its an easily shielded and contained waste unlike every other energy source

Even if that number is true, that volume is about the size of a 21 m x 21 m x 21 m cube.

@David_Speers is as dumb as a brick or a coke can! 285 m3 is a volume and tennis court surface measurement is m2. @abcnews @ABCTV he could have said 10 20-foot containers etc. shows you the level and quality of these discussions. Stopped watching ABC 2 yrs ago! Good decision!!
