I was there- don’t let the naysayers complain. The crowd absolutely lost it, one of the coolest moments I’ve ever witnessed at a concert. Regardless of the quality of the performance, I appreciated being there for this moment in Grateful Dead history.

The crowd gasped…was the last show at the Spectrum played there 53 times

I was. It was one of the most surreal concert moments of my life. There were lines at the pay phones during set break to get the word out. I’ll never forget it. So grateful I was there.

Here in 2025, I chose to reinvent our industry event strategy & approach. As everyone knows, you can attend a supply chain-related event every day of the week - - and NEVER get work done! 😃 However, some of the industry events out there offer very meaningful programming, networking, professional development and market intel gathering - - that you really miss out on if you don't venture out. I've been in the space for over 20 years & love to connect with folks in person. There's TONS of Good News in that fellowship & in those conversations. So this year, we did our homework & carefully chose a handful of very targeted events, based on a variety of factors. And it has been a very successful & rewarding experiment. But we're not done. We still have a variety of events that we'll be at through the end of the year. With that in mind, we created this message that highlights three of the next events we look forward to participating in - along with a couple of highlights on each: 👉 CHAINge North America 2025 - September 9-10, powered by the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM). Held in Columbus, OH. ASCM 👉 AME International Conference - October 6-9, powered by the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). I love the manufacturing industry & reflect back on my experiences in that industry often. Held in St. Louis. AME 👉 Gartner Supply Chain Planning Summit in Denver - December 2-3, powered by Gartner for Supply Chain. The power of focus! And if we are gonna focus on any one thing: supply chain planning would be on the short list, right? Gartner Folks, let me know what top events are on your schedule the rest of the year. We are still adding (judiciously) to ours. Unlike Evelyn Quan Wang, I cannot be everything everywhere all at once - - but I try to be somethings in some places here and there. BTW: you can keep up with our event travels, interviews & content via our Supply Chain Now website. We have a big new site rolling out soon, but for now: Folks - have a great weekend. Lend a helping hand to someone in need. Life is short. Be nice. 🙌

Shaquille O'Neal says he thought his bank manager was setting him up after learning $300,000 was taken from his first $1,000,000: “Who the fuck is FICA” “The first money I got, even before I got drafted, was a card signing deal. It was a million dollars. So I said, ‘I gotta go get the black on black 500 sitting on them 19-inch hammers” “I had no negotiating skills. I go in there, ‘How much? Move the seat back a couple inches. Call me.’ I get home. My dad was like, ‘That's nice. Where's mine?’” “I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I know a million minus $150,000... shit, I got $850,000 left. He gets the same joint I got. We get home, my mom’s like, ‘Where's mine at?’” “She don't want the big one. She wants the little one. So I got $700,000 left. Hers cost $100,000. I got $600,000 left” “I went to the jewelry shop, I bought some Allen Iversons. I bought a dookie rope chain. I bought a nugget chain. I bought a two-finger ring. I got a high rise in San Antonio, paid that off for the year” “Next couple of days, the bank manager called me. ‘Shaq, I need you to come to the bank.’ When I came to the bank, he said, ‘Look, man, I don't want you to be like everybody else’” “He showed me. I was like, ‘Yeah, I did this, I did this, I did this.’ Then I was like, ‘Who the fuck is FICA’” “FICA had took like $300,000. Like, ‘No. I don't know FICA. I don't know FICA. You trying to set me up.’ He said, ‘No, man. FICA is the money that the government takes out’” “I had no idea. I didn't know nothing about that. So I was like, I really do have to start being smart”

[ELLE MEN Talk] ☀️: Hello, #ELLEMENThailand. I'm #BRIGHT. Now we are with ELLE MEN Talk. ❓: Talking about summer, what is the first thing you think of? ☀️: Talking about summer, I think of hot weather. lol. I think of Songkran Festival. In summer, I always think of Songkran. ❓: A memorable moment in the past half year. ☀️: I actually travelled to many countries, met so many people, met fans in many countries, and met many talented people from various industries in every trip. I felt that it made me more open-minded, broadened my perspective, and allowed me to see the differences among them (different regions/cultures). ❓: For 'Holiday Summer', how would you like to spend your rest (relaxing/chill) time? ☀️: For me, during my rest time, I prefer to stay home. Esp. during summer, when the weather is so hot, staying home, turning on a cool A/C, having tasty food, and listening to music... ❓: Ways to rest or relax. ☀️: I think staying home. Turn off your phone; no need to pick up the phone; no need to be aware of anything in the outside world lol, and just spend time with yourself. ❓: The 1st thing you will do after taking a break from the online world. ☀️: Turn off the phone. It's one thing that I often do. Lately, I haven't known much about which way the world is heading or what is happening. But I think that makes us more peaceful, allows us to listen to ourselves more, not just go with the flow of the online world, be able to really listen to ourselves, what we want, what we really wanna do right now, smth like that. ❓: Hobby you're currently interested in. ☀️: Right now I spend a lot of time with music. Right now, almost everything I spend time on, almost all of it, relates to my work/project, bc it's a fun project. Listening to music, watching movies, going out to see arts/galleries or talking to people. In the end, it leads back to my work and inspires my work. For me, it's fun and benefits my work. That's my hobby right now. ❓: What do you prioritize when getting dressed to go out? ☀️: Weather, I think. I mean if it's so hot or so cold outside, it's gotta be weather. And, probably my mood on that day. Sometimes, if I want to look artly, I might wear clothes with colors that don't go together*. If that day I wanna look cool and confident, I may wear all black. I think it depends on mood and what I have to do on that day. ❓: This year's goal. ☀️: Probably to finally release the work I’ve been building up. Over the past two years, I've work in many projects and spent so much time with them. During this second half of the year, we will start to see those I've been working on and those I've been preparing and I'm very excited to have everyone seeing them. ❓: In the second half of the year, what projects would fans get to see? ☀️: The music projects and the project that I've been working on for a long time. You will get to see the first part of it. I'd like everyone to stay tuned. I'm really excited/thrilled [for you to see them]. (* Couldn't hear very well. Not sure if this is correct.) #ElleMenxBRIGHT #AudemarsPiguetxBRIGHT #RoyalOakOffshore #AudemarsPiguet #bbrightvc #BrightVachirawit

On this day, 41 years ago, Peter Weir's "Witness" (1985) starring Harrison Ford & Kelly McGillis was released in the USA. Originally, there were 2 pages of dialogue for the final scene in 'Witness' (1985), but Peter Weir cut it, despite the insistence of the studio: "I got into a tricky spot with my first American film 'Witness' (1985). At the end of that movie, the police detective played by Harrison Ford is leaving the farm to go back to his life in Philadelphia and he goes to say goodbye to the Amish woman. Their romance is clearly not going to go anywhere. You see him driving away and passing the Amish man coming down the hill and you realize that she is going to have a life with him. Originally there were two pages of dialogue in which Harrison explained why he was leaving and she gave her feelings to him. It was very literal, and I cut it all because we didn’t need it. The producer told me that the studio would never accept it because we need to know what they are feeling. I knew that if I had done my job properly, you would know exactly how they were feeling by the time it was all cut together. They just look at each other. It’s hopeless, it’s beyond words. The executive from the studio, Jeffrey Katzenberg, who was at Paramount at the time, flew out to talk to me and suggested I shoot it both ways just in case. That seemed a waste of time to me so Jeff asked me to paint a picture in words for him and tell it like a story. So, over coffee in this restaurant in Lancaster Pennsylvania, I told him. He thought it sounded fine." ('Filmcraft - Directing', Mike Goodridge, 2012)

Not long ago, I turned down an offer from a major news network. I read through the terms and realized it came with too many constraints, it was more of a control document than a partnership. So I walked away and chose a smaller outlet instead. The pay was not the same, but they treated me with integrity and gave me the freedom I cared about. No one ever controlled my speech. My mom thought I was making a mistake. She warned me that people who cling to idealism and independence in the media don’t usually end up financially secure. My dad saw it differently. He told me to go for it, decline the fancy offer and go with what I believed, he said that I had the drive to carve my own path and shouldn’t let myself get absorbed into something that didn’t fit. He’s always been in my corner. He's my best friend. I trusted that instinct and went all in. That decision gave me the space to chase my own vision in journalism, and eventually I stepped out completely on my own, no overhead, no constraints. It’s intense, almost nonstop work 24/7, but the payoff is real - I love what I do, I respect the people I work with and I get to stay true to myself. I sleep so well at night! I might not be the richest journalist out there, but I’d argue I’m one of the luckiest. I love my colleagues and I love my friends in the industry. Journalists are often hated today because of the rise of propaganda machines, but some are doing far braver work than many soldiers out there! So support the good ones, you all know who they are. Who do you want to see on the show next?

My first Allsvenskan goal was against Djurgården at Fredriksskans on the 10/05/2008. Before I made my first team debut for Kalmar FF, I spent 3months playing for the reserve team while I training with the first team on a daily basis. My first encounter with Nanne Bergstrand before I signed with Kalmar FF, he told me how much he trusted me and how he will love it that I joint the team after laying down the plans for me in the team. He said "you will be the joker of the team this season" I didn't understand what he meant be that but I didn't care about that because I trusted myself enough that I will definitely play more than a joker role if given the chance. So during this 3months playing for the Reverse Team I was not happy at missing games for the first team at all because training with them made me feel like I can play in this team. During one of the games with the reverse team against Malmo FF away from home was when everything thing changed for me. Playing against them is always difficult even their first team. We won the game 3-4 and i scored 4 scored 4 goals against a very good Malmo FF reserve team and that was the last time I played for the reserves that season. The next day there was no recovery for me so I had to training with the first team as usual. Nanne called me before training and told me I will be with part of the first team match squad moving forward. May 10th I scored my first Professional goal after being on the pitch for 10mins and I did it in style. I was so happy to have scored the last goal of the game to give us a comfortable 5-1 win. The joy and tears in my eyes was the reward for my patience and determination to prove myself that I have a place in the first team. I went on to play 21 games for the first team and became the replacement for our Brazilian star Caesar Santin who joined Fc Copenhagen. Be patient with yourself and trust in your abilities to make it happen.

Lord Jesus, Thank You for the blessing of a new day. Today I focus on You, praising You for everything You do for me, day after day. Thank You for protecting me through the night. Thank You for the roof over my head, the bed I woke up in, & the food that keeps me going. Lord, thank You for the sacrifice & taking on the sins of the world. Thank You for blessing me with a voice that can uplift so many. Without You I would be nowhere, but because of You, I can go anywhere. Guide my steps today, Lord. I ask that You walk with me in every step I take. Thank You for giving me the ability to provide for my family, & I pray You bless each one of us today. Lord, I ask You to heal those who are suffering physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually. Show us who we need to reach out to today if they need a hand. Cover us in the blood of the Lamb & clothe us in the full Armor of God. Forgive our sins & help us resist temptation. If I trespass in any way, help me see my mistakes so I can make them right & apologize. If my ego causes anger to rise, help me restrain myself so I respond in love & not vengeance. If I become short-tempered, remind me to pause so I don’t say or do something I’ll regret. Lord, I thank You for leading me out of the shadow of the valley. That mountain is tall, but with You, I know I will reach the peak. I rebuke the devil, his demons, every curse, & every chain in the name of Jesus Christ. Remove them from my life, my home, & my loved ones today. Lord, I am Your obedient servant. Do with me as You will. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray, Amen & Amen. Heading into Sanford Stadium 10 years ago today as an underdog for the first in 72 games, Alabama head coach Nick Saban told his players the plan to beat the No. 8-ranked Georgia Bulldogs could not be done by “ordinary men.” With national pundits proclaiming the dynasty had ended two weeks earlier with an upset loss to Ole Miss at home, Alabama Football responded with an “extraordinary” performance in a dominating, 38-10, victory over Georgia on Oct. 3, 2015. Despite soggy conditions, Jake Coker accounted for two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing, while Derrick Henry scored on a 30-yard run and the Crimson Tide added two non-offensive touchdowns in the 28-point rout. “I was really proud of our players today, our team today,” Saban said in the postgame press conference. “I thought this was a difficult challenge for them. I told them before the game that the plan that we had for them, ordinary men couldn’t go out there and get it done. “We needed them to be extraordinary and that they were, and they were special.” Alabama jumped out to a comfortable 24-3 halftime lead on a 29-yard field goal by Adam Griffith, Henry’s 30-yard run, a blocked punt return by Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 45-yard pass from Coker to Calvin Ridley. In the second half, Eddie Jackson returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown and Coker added a 2-yard scoring run to give the Crimson Tide a 38-3 lead with 10:05 remaining in the third quarter.

Dream car secured 🕺I started getting media test cars 20 years ago this year. One of the very first was one of these, and goodness knows how 19-year old me didn't kill himself in this car, especially in a stormy Cape Town winter 😅 I've kept an eye on the Lumina market since then and finally, the right car from the right owner at the right time came up. This thing is immaculate, FSH and completely factory original, except for a custom 8-pot big brake upgrade kit. -- I truly believe in helping people without asking for anything return. The way this car came to me, I randomly met a good friend of a good friend; young parents with a toddler. They bought an old high-miler X3 which soon failed; chain jumped and took out the head. They reached out to me for help and through my networks I helped them get a better salvage price. -- The guy who helped them is a serious collector from Pretoria and one of the nicest humans I've ever met. We started chatting often and he randomly asked me one day if I'd be interested in his Lumina, and the rest is history. What you're watching here is me seeing the car for the very first time. 39-year old me is so happy for 19-year old me, and 19-year old me is over the moon for 39-year old me. -- A massive thank you to the amazing people at Moto Village Cape Town who helped make this dream a reality. The team there have always supported me, Yovanie Ganesh and our businesses and I will forever be grateful for their kindness. -- My first intern and now full-time employee is 22 now, and he once messaged me privately and said he is struggling because he feels like he hasn't achieved anything. I told him two things that day: firstly, never compare your life to anyone else's - there are just too many variables - comparing your life to others is a surefire path to demotivation and misery. Secondly, I bought my first car when I was 33. I told him there is always time, and never, ever, ever give up. -- Can't wait to share this car with all of you. This one is a keeper and will remain in my private collection! -- I have a few sayings when it comes to collecting cars, but one of them seems to keep guiding me: Save the V8s. And save the NA V8s in particular🚀 — The Cars.co.za Team CarJoy (Pty) Ltd.
