Nigeria’s Past Dry-season Farming Policy Lowered Food Prices - Adesina A big part of the challenge facing Nigeria today is just food, you can't fix food inflation with just monetary policy. AFDB has launched a $134 million fund to aid Nigeria to produce a lot more food and drive down the cost of food. In the dry season, we will do 300,000 hectares of maize and rice, 150,000 hectares of cassava and 50,000 hectares of soya. I’m going to reverse 80 years of farm policy which have directed us toward industrial agriculture, industrial meat production, factory farming, chemical-based agriculture, carbon-based fertilizers.
