Google just wrapped up its big keynote at I/O 2025. It was full of AI-related announcements and even some exciting surprises, too. Here are the 15 biggest reveals:

1. Real-Time Language Translation in Google Meet This feature utilizes AI to provide instant translations during meetings, allowing participants to communicate seamlessly across different languages

2. AI Mode in Google Search A new tab that lets you search the web using the company’s Gemini AI chatbot is rolling out to all users in the US starting this week. Google will test new features in AI Mode this summer, including deep search and shopping capabilities.

4. Gemini Live is now available to everyone Gemini Live with camera and screen sharing, is now free on Android and iOS for everyone, so you can point your phone at anything and talk it through.

5. Imagen 4 and Veo 3 The new text-to-image generator offers improved text generation and supports new image formats. Veo 3, the AI video generator, now enables simultaneous video and sound generation, while Veo 2 now comes with tools like camera controls and object removal.

6. Launch of Flow: AI Filmmaking App It utilizes Veo, Imagen, and Gemini to create eight-second video clips based on text prompts or images. It includes scene-builder tools, allowing users to stitch clips together and produce longer AI-generated videos.

7. Gemini 2.5 gets a “Deep Think” mode This enhanced reasoning mode is designed for complex tasks such as advanced mathematics and coding. It’s capable of considering “multiple hypotheses before responding” and will only be available to trusted testers first.

8. Xreal and Google are teaming up on Project Aura A new pair of smart glasses that use the Android XR platform for mixed-reality devices. Details are still limited, but they’ll feature Gemini integration, a wide field of view, and built-in cameras and microphones.

9. Google’s ‘universal AI assistant’ is getting more proactive Project Astra can now complete tasks on your behalf, even without a direct prompt, and can choose to speak based on what it sees.

10. Google adds Gemini to Chrome Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will be able to use the Gemini button in Chrome to clarify complex information or summarize content on any webpage. In the future, Gemini will work across multiple tabs and navigate websites on your behalf.

11. A new $250 per month “AI Ultra” plan Google's new subscription offers access to the company’s most advanced AI models and higher usage limits across apps like Gemini, NotebookLM, Flow, and more. It also includes early access to Gemini in Chrome and Project Mariner.

12. Google’s new tool uses AI to create app interfaces Available on Google Labs, "Stitch" can generate interfaces using selected themes and a description. You can also incorporate wireframes, rough sketches, and screenshots of other UI designs to guide Stitch’s output.

13. Google's new “try it on” feature. Google is testing a feature that lets users upload a full-length photo of themselves to see how shirts, pants, dresses, or skirts might look on them. It uses an AI model that “understands the human body and the nuances of clothing.”

14. Password Updates in Chrome Later this year, Chrome will be able to offer password updates if it detects that your password’s been compromised. Google says the browser will soon be able to “generate a strong replacement” and automatically update it on supported websites.

15. Gmail gets a major AI upgrade Smart replies in Gmail are now more personalized, using info from your inbox and Google Drive to draft more accurate responses that match your tone. Gemini can also handle tasks like deleting or archiving emails, simply tell Gemini what you want to do. It will even detect when you're setting up a meeting and prompt you to share your booking page, making it easier to offer times to clients or customers.
