CES was an enormous success. We saw thousands of people and a few dogs interacting with our agents and robots. We booked this booth at the last minute, mainly to book next year’s booth. Truly extraordinary what our team was able to put together on such short notice. Next year we reserved one of the largest booths at CES in the highest traffic location for AI and Robotics. We plan to unveil something extraordinary. Until the next show, we will be debuting the first custom models that will emerge from the first humanoid robotics hot rod shop. These models will be walking around, talking and interacting at tradeshows all over the world over the next few months. We are in the process of acquiring every humanoid robot available on the market to modify these as well. Stay tuned for more updates, the future is here and it’s rapidly accelerating.

I’ve said before that Cem Karsan 🥐 is a must listen for anyone in the market, and particularly retail. This clip shows why. He does not hold back, he reveals the inside baseball that’s happening. Here he says that GameStop was in a way an orchestrated squeeze by institutions because they saw an edge - the persistent bid from retail call buyers. The peculiarities of $GME at the time (tiny float, massively over shorted, etc) contributed to the severity of the squeeze and made it the most famous. But I believe Cem is touching on something that explains many other “orchestrated” squeezes, from TSLA to PLTR to POET - retail liquidity absolutely matters. If the view is that there will be a consistent bid for shares/calls in a ticker and that is proven true, and it doesn’t go away, that name will keep going up as that buying is front run by institutions. It creates a reflexive loop that pushes it higher and higher, until that retail bid dries up. And that’s when the music stops and a severe correction happens. Right now they’re already setting up the store—the kiosk that Dunk designed myself. i just want to tell everyone that we’ll definitely see each other tomorrow. definitely Iit’s the very first day and Dunk don’t want to miss it. even though i have an outing and even though i’m still on that outing right now my heart is already at the Navori pop-up booth. the pop-up booth you know—the one i’ve been planning and working on. so i think i’ll stop by in the evening around 6:00–6:30pm or so. you can come meet me there. it’s at Central Chidlom on the 2nd floor! it’s located along the walkway between Chidlom and Embassy right in the middle. the area is called Marketplace. we can meet right there along the connecting walkway. you can search for it on google maps. it’s the Navori booth - the booth has a very cute and colorful design and it’s a kiosk that i personally designed and put a lot of care into. so i’d really love for everyone to come and support it tomorrow. we’ll see each other in the evening. and if you’d like to know what new menu items Navori is launching you can stop by as early as the morning. the booth opens from the morning and you can go check it out - reserve items buy them - try them and review them before anyone else. cause tomorrow there will be exclusive menu items available only at Central Chidlom. i’ve added so many of them. i actually bought one today and it’s the Uber Drink. there will be another Uber Drink as well but this one is the latte version. as for the other Uber Drink it’s going to be a secret. you’ll find out tomorrow. i’m honestly super excited about the Uber Drink cause this is the first time Navori has ever made a beverage. normally we have pastries and mooncake-style treats to eat right? but sometimes if you don’t have a drink afterward your throat can get a little dry even though the snacks are delicious. so we’ve added drinks now. i want everyone to enjoy the pastries and when your throat gets just a tiny bit dry you can take a sip of the Uber Latte alongside them. tomorrow i’ll reveal another menu item too. i’ll be announcing one more drink and it’s also part of the Uber line. and as for the pastries i can tell you this much—there will be new flavors tomorrow. about… 8 flavors in total. i’m getting excited already. and there will also be one brand-new special flavor as well. am i giving away too much? Some really thought-provoking insights on the Chinese and US economy here by Louis-Vincent Gave, the CEO of Gavekal. For instance he explains why the stock market is really not that important in China, especially when compared with the US. This is because the Chinese economy is really not that financialized and only a tiny proportion of the Chinese, 10%, hold stocks as opposed to 70% of Americans: "So if tomorrow the US stock market goes down two-thirds, 70% of people feel very poor. In China, if the stock market goes down two-thirds, 90% of people don't care." He also pinpoints a fascinating paradox, which is that there is much more competition between firms in the Chinese market, and many more bankruptcies than in the US: "I can name you 10 Chinese bankruptcies over the past three or four years of automakers, solar panel manufacturers, real estate developers, etc. Here we are in the Western world, whether in France, in the UK, in the US, and we pat ourselves on the back about how capitalist we are, about how we're red-blooded capitalists, etc. Yet when was the last big bankruptcy? Are we capitalist if nobody ever goes bust? How does that work? How does capitalism work without bankruptcy?" As he explains, the way the Chinese economy works is that there is stronger management of the market by the government but this paradoxically leads to a situation where the market works more dynamically in creating new companies, as well as destroying companies that don't work anymore. So interestingly we're arriving at a situation where "communist China" might be today the best example of free-market 'creative destruction,' whilst the "capitalist U.S." seems to be calcifying into a form of corporate protectionism where big corporations are increasingly insulated from failure. This really raises fascinating questions on the role of government with regards to the economy... It sort of makes sense when you think about it that when you effectively let capital regulate itself, they'd want to move towards a situation where they can't lose and establish monopolies. And that you paradoxically need a strong referee above capital in order to foster a truly dynamic economic system.

Some really thought-provoking insights on the Chinese and US economy here by Louis-Vincent Gave, the CEO of Gavekal. For instance he explains why the stock market is really not that important in China, especially when compared with the US. This is because the Chinese economy is really not that financialized and only a tiny proportion of the Chinese, 10%, hold stocks as opposed to 70% of Americans: "So if tomorrow the US stock market goes down two-thirds, 70% of people feel very poor. In China, if the stock market goes down two-thirds, 90% of people don't care." He also pinpoints a fascinating paradox, which is that there is much more competition between firms in the Chinese market, and many more bankruptcies than in the US: "I can name you 10 Chinese bankruptcies over the past three or four years of automakers, solar panel manufacturers, real estate developers, etc. Here we are in the Western world, whether in France, in the UK, in the US, and we pat ourselves on the back about how capitalist we are, about how we're red-blooded capitalists, etc. Yet when was the last big bankruptcy? Are we capitalist if nobody ever goes bust? How does that work? How does capitalism work without bankruptcy?" As he explains, the way the Chinese economy works is that there is stronger management of the market by the government but this paradoxically leads to a situation where the market works more dynamically in creating new companies, as well as destroying companies that don't work anymore. Generative AI is a Psy-op to Keep the Poor Dumb The growing mass reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not accidental. It is a deliberate effort driven by a few wealthy Silicon Valley capitalists to commoditise “intelligence” and convince people to adopt it in exchange for their real-life problem-solving abilities, critical thinking and cultural authenticity. The ultimate goal as always, is to enrich this already super-wealthy tech elite at the expense of everyone else. Tellingly, while these billionaire tech oligarchs spend billions to convince consumers to adopt and become dependent on “AI” solutions, they are also doubling down on the primacy of human intelligence in their elite bubbles. This was illustrated by luxury car brand Porsche, which recently released an advert whose messaging conspicuously signalled that it used exclusively human-created content. This is a clear sign of a sharp divide between the wealthy and everyday people on the question of AI adoption. While the working classes are heavily influenced to buy into the idea that generative AI platforms like ChatGPT, Suno, and VEO-3 represent the future of work, research, and art, luxury brands meant for the elite are concurrently reassuring their market that human craftsmanship, critical thinking, and genuine creativity remains central to their vision. “AI for thee, not for me” appears to be the message. Across Africa, multiple Western state and NGO actors are pushing for this so-called “AI revolution” to take a central place in African educational systems. Even in some parts of the continent where basic access to electricity remains a challenge, governments are being feverishly lobbied to adopt “AI strategies” for their under-resourced educational systems. At the very same time, it has been reported that Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and other Silicon Valley billionaires who are pushing AI adoption, not only enroll their children in Montessori schools but also restrict their exposure and access to the very same technology that their lobbyists are trying to push into African classrooms. The obvious danger in opening African education systems up to the so-called “AI Revolution” is that the next generation of Africans could end up devoid of the exact reading, writing, critical reasoning and creative skills that Africa needs to fully take its place in the world - instead trained from an early age to be reliant on ChatGPT, Grok, Suno, Nano Banana, and VEO-3 to do their thinking and expression for them. At a time when high-level human thinking is needed more than ever on the continent, it is no accident that Western lobbyists are heavily pushing the normalisation of generative AI as a core pillar of African education. If Africa is to be maintained as a colonial resource plantation and a market for excess overseas production, young Africans must be made to read, write and think less, and consume more. In Africa and elsewhere, the constant global dynamic is that the poor and underprivileged are encouraged to outsource their intellectual processes to AI in order to “stay competitive," while the wealthy quietly protect the disciplines that actually sharpen the mind: reading, writing, artistry, and critical thinking. Africans must see the “AI Revolution” for what it is. Far from just benign or neutral technological advancement, it is yet another manifestation of power consolidation by Western racial-capitalists. This class of people understands very well that literacy, philosophy, and art produce power, while delegation of thought only produces ignorance and compliance. Despite whatever message they put out, the reality remains that thinking for yourself will in fact, never be “disrupted.”

Peter Thiel literally delivered a full semester of Stanford lectures that explain how to build a business nobody can compete with better than any business school: 1. If you want to build a great company, aim to be the only one who does what you do. Thiel's entire philosophy comes down to one line. The mistake people make is assuming these two numbers move together. They don't. You can build something enormously valuable to the world and capture almost none of it. The airline industry moves millions of people and barely makes a profit. Google moves information and keeps a fortune. Being important is not the same as being profitable. 3. Both winners and losers lie about what business they're really in. Thiel says companies distort the truth in opposite directions. A company with no real edge describes its market as tiny and specific to sound special. "We're the only British food restaurant in Palo Alto." Meanwhile a company that dominates does the opposite and pretends it has loads of competition to avoid attention. 4. Google is the perfect example of hiding a dominant position. Google runs the vast majority of internet search. But it never calls itself a search company. "Google describes itself as a technology company." It talks about self-driving cars, phones, and the huge global advertising market where it looks small. By defining its market as broadly as possible, it makes a dominant position look modest and avoids scrutiny. 5. Humans copy each other, and it makes us do insane things. This is the deepest part of the talk. Thiel argues people are naturally imitative, like a herd. We want things mainly because other people want them. "It's not that there's wisdom in crowds. When lots of people are trying to do something, that is often proof of insanity." The fact that everyone is chasing something is not evidence it's a good idea. It's often evidence it's a terrible one. 6. Twenty thousand people move to Los Angeles every year to become film stars. About twenty make it. That's his example of the herd instinct destroying people. Everyone piles into the same brutally competitive game because it looks glamorous, and almost all of them lose. The lesson for founders is to be deeply suspicious of any path where huge numbers of people are all chasing the exact same prize. The crowd is not a signal of opportunity. It's a warning. 7. Be suspicious of any business described as two buzzwords crossed together. Thiel mocks the way bad startups pitch themselves. You take a few trendy words, mobile, social, sharing, and mash them into a story. He compares it to a Hollywood pitch that crosses two random movies. Great Productivity Apps: We have a suite of breakthrough productivity applications, like Lotus Improv, that dwarfs what is available on Sun systems. 3. Interpersonal Computing: This is the use of sophisticated networking and multimedia to improve group productivity and collaboration. While we have to educate customers on this now, within 24 months, it will be the number one reason people buy our computers. Our goal is to make it so that everyone considering a Sun system calls us. In the last 90 days, we’ve gone head-to-head with Sun 15 times and we’ve won 15 out of 15. We are going to continue to listen to our customers and refine our position to dominate this new professional workstation market."

We were oscillating between two identities: were we a more powerful PC, or were we an easier-to-use workstation? Then we had a revelation: the workstation marketplace is actually two markets.
