Pour one out for the mid-2000s Big East. Had to be there.
The suits tried to erase this game from our memories. They don’t want you to remember that it had more than 2x the ratings as the 2006 Iron Bowl. 4.4: West Virginia/Louisville (ESPN) 1.9: Auburn/Alabama (3:30 PM, CBS) This was CFB before Disney ruined it.
Miss those Big East days, had some good teams. Been curious if kept together and added about 8 more teams what it would have looked like today.
Thar game was electric. We never sat down the whole game. Absolutely wild to think about what this team could have been with a healthy Michael Bush

And then Rutgers beat Louisville a few weeks later. This was the peak of Big East football 😭
Classic stuff. Would've played for the title but William Gay had other plans vs Rutgers.
I still hate Louisville for this game. Was happy to break them the next year
