Happy Birthday, Pat Cummins : The Fast Bowler Who Rebuilt an Era When Pat Cummins burst onto the scene in 2011 & bounced out Jacques Kallis on debut, Australia saw a glimpse of something special. But after that incredible start, came six long years of injuries. Six years out of Test cricket ; a stretch that could have ended most careers... But Cummins came back. Not just as a tearaway quick, but as a complete fast bowler ; consistent, accurate, and reliable. He didn’t need the new ball to lead the attack. He did it with skill and discipline... Between 20 January 2019 & 20 January 2021 ; during the height of COVID and bubble fatigue, Cummins played 16 Tests, took 84 wickets at average of 18.8 & strike rate of 43.3. Even more remarkably, he never took fewer than 3 wickets in any of those Tests, despite having just two five-wicket hauls. He didn’t rely on big chunk of wickets; he just never failed to deliver... In 2021, when Australian cricket was still healing from back-to-back scandals involving its last two Test captains, Cummins took charge. A fast bowler as captain was a gamble; but he didn’t just handle it. He transformed it... Since then, Australia has played 33 Tests under Cummins and won 20 of them; a win percentage of over 60%. That’s elite company, especially considering he hasn't led an all-time great batting lineup like Steve or Ricky... With the ball, he’s led by example. Cummins has taken 130 Test wickets as captain ; the most by any fast bowler after Imran Khan... Here's one more stat that sums him up: in 21st century, only Glenn McGrath has a better average against top 3 Test batters (min. 50 wickets). McGrath’s average is 24.16. Cummins : 24.2. As his mother once told him; he went on to take the world. And he hasn’t stopped since. Not just winning games, but also winning hearts...

As the Connecticut Huskies attempt to win another national championship tonight against Michigan, Alabama Men’s Basketball fans still hear the echos of two years ago when the Crimson Tide finally crashed college basketball’s biggest event for the first time on April 6, 2024. Inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., the Crimson Tide’s breakthrough season reached its crescendo in its first Final Four appearance against the Huskies. As a No. 4 seed coming out of the West Region, the magical run ended with an 86-72 loss, but not before the Crimson Tide proved it belonged on the grandest stage. Mark Sears led the way with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists, continuing his March brilliance. Grant Nelson delivered a monster effort with 19 points and a season-best 15 rebounds for a double-double, while Aaron Estrada added 13 points as Alabama fought to keep within striking distance deep into the second half. Stephon Castle scored 21 points, Donovan Clingan had 18 and Tristen Newton controlled the game with 12 points and nine assists. When Alabama clawed back to tie it in the second half, UConn answered with a decisive run. “We got this program to its first Final Four, and I’m unbelievably proud of these guys,” Alabama head coach Nate Oats said. “We just went up against the best team in the country and they showed it.” Two years later, as Connecticut chases another title, that Saturday night in Glendale stands as more than a final score in Alabama history. It redefined the ceiling of a program and created an expectation to get back.

Happy Final Space Friday! Lots to update. So here’s the thing… since I legally can’t do a digital version of the comic, I’ve been digging into a little loophole: a motion comic. Like… an actual video version of the book. Still testing it, but Daz Tibbles did a rough test and is trying a few motion poster tests with other characters. If we pull this off, it’s gonna take FOREVER but it’s possible. That’s the key word here. Possible. And maybe worth it. Over on the Color Edition, the print file’s coming together clean. The whole focus right now is threefold: 1.Resizing 2. Color matching 3.And the “Zazz Pass” (if a tweak takes under 30 minutes, I’m hitting it). I’m building a punch list and should have some before/after examples to show off next week. It’s looking really good. On the Midnight Edition, we’re building out the UV Spot File for the cover titles on the front, spine, back, and yep, the shards of glass will glint too. Gonna look sick! Just waiting on the physical samples to land at my door so I can approve it for full print run. Also printer flagged 15 pages where the text bubbles were a little too close to the cut line, so I went in, fixed them, and sent them back. And yes, I asked about international languages. It’s doable, but that’s a whole other mountain would need to re-letter the whole thing. I’m shelving that until the English versions are fully out. Right now, I’m just keeping my head down and charging through the color files. Let me know what you think of Daz Tibbles tackling a full motion comic. -O PRE-ORDER HERE:

📣 PUBLIC BETA FOR 'LEVERAGED VOLATILITY FARMING' (LVF) IS LIVE! We are thrilled to announce that the LVF Public Beta is LIVE. 🎉 This is the first iteration of our long-expected foundational upgrade ‘Leveraged Volatility Farming'. Access it here: What to expect? 🎢🧑‍🌾 Volatility Farmers can engage in extra-safe Soft Leverage and Self-Lending via Dynamic Concentrated Liquidity Pods (DCLPs). New Pods can be opened and, once opened, existing Pods can be joined. 🫳💰 Lenders can earn stable income by supplying assets to Metavaults as well as individual Pods. The user experience will continue to undergo improvements throughout the Beta phase. As part of this process, we will kick off our UI Bug Bounty program for $20k worth of $PEAS within the next week—stay tuned for details. We are holding back on some aspects during the Beta phase as we test our product in the market. The team will centrally manage which Pods receive allocations from Metavaults during the Beta phase before handing responsibility over to vlPEAS post-main launch. ⚡️ We are further happy to announce that we've integrated another novel feature into LVF, which was also a key reason for holding off on the launch for a few more days. We've innovated an efficient method to flash source pTKN pairing assets for borrowers, fully independent from the availability of flashloan liquidity! In line with our commitment to safety, this feature has undergone auditing over the past two weeks and has now been incorporated into the LVF codebase. ✨ After this incredible journey, we are proud to bring this initial version of LVF to the public. We look forward to feedback from the community, which we will continuously review throughout the beta phase. Once our bug bounty program with SHERLOCK has concluded and we've addressed remaining UI/UX optimizations, we’ll gear up for the final step in our LVF journey—Main Launch. 🚀🫛 Onwards and Upwards! 🫛

Seedance 2 is so good at character and scene consistency across cuts. I tested it with a short film on something I learned last week about cats. The key is detailed prompts - take your story to an LLM to nail the structure, then to Krea to make the video. Take my prompt 👇 Style: high-quality 3D animation, expressive character acting, cozy lighting, cinematic composition Timestamped structure: 0:00 - 0:02 Open on a cozy desk setup in a home office. A black cat, Finn, is near the desk, alert and curious. The woman with brown hair and blue eyes sits at her computer, pulling up a YouTube-style bird video. The screen shows colorful birds hopping on branches. Finn immediately locks in on the movement. 0:03 - 0:05 The woman smiles knowingly and adjusts the monitor so Finn can see better. She lightly gestures toward the screen. Finn jumps onto the chair or desk edge and sits facing the monitor, ears forward, body still, completely mesmerized by the birds. 0:05 - 0:07 The woman gets up from the desk and walks away casually, leaving Finn watching. Finn remains seated, staring at the bird video with total concentration. Maybe a subtle tail flick or tiny head movement tracks the birds on screen. 0:07 - 0:10 Cut to later in the day, in the exact same office. The woman is now back at the desk in a Zoom meeting, still with the single monitor on the same desk. The computer screen now shows a video call grid or work presentation instead of the birds. She is mid-conversation, professional and focused, seated upright, saying "and now we'll move to the next slide" 0:10 - 0:12 Finn suddenly jumps up onto the desk from below, entering frame with urgency. He looks at the screen, confused and dissatisfied that the birds are gone. He starts pawing at the screen and the woman is shocked and embarrassed
