Korea silences the skies for Suneung South Korea went into Suneung mode Thursday, taking extra measures to ensure smooth running of the annual College Scholastic Ability Test. The measures include pushing back the official start of the working day by 1 hour, and even grounding and forbidding landings of airplanes for the duration of the English language listening test from 1:10 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. In order to prevent any possible disturbances that could affect the exam takers, all domestic and international flights were barred from departing or landing at airports. Airplanes in transit were ordered to remain in the air at an altitude of 3 kilometers or higher. A flight tracker clip shows airplanes circling near Incheon Airport, waiting to land, while other flights were grounded on the tarmac awaiting takeoff.

Happy Birthday, Pat Cummins : The Fast Bowler Who Rebuilt an Era When Pat Cummins burst onto the scene in 2011 & bounced out Jacques Kallis on debut, Australia saw a glimpse of something special. But after that incredible start, came six long years of injuries. Six years out of Test cricket ; a stretch that could have ended most careers... But Cummins came back. Tell my mum I love her.” The attack occurred in January 2023 and Police said it was in revenge for an alleged assault on one of the defendants' brother months earlier. Atkinson underwent open heart surgery, but died of multiple wounds to his back, arms and legs. This is how the 🇺🇸 🇨🇳 relationship will improve…people to people diplomacy👇 This afternoon I took my kids to play badminton, a sport we do together as a family 3x a week here in China. Two young Chinese boys approached my twins and wanted to play against them. They were fascinated to play against two young Americans. The four of them battled for almost an hour, spoke a mix of both English and Chinese, and at the end all 4 young boys were so happy they got to play with each other. New friendships made, new cultures learned, but most importantly an experience all 4 boys will remember. This was probably the first time these local boys got to play against American kids, and it was the first time my boys got to test their skills against local Chinese boys. This is why we come back to China every summer. Explore the country, teach our kids Chinese, appreciate my wife’s hometown here in Guangzhou. Life is beautiful when you just focus on people and being kind to others. Chinese people are amazing, this country is amazing and I will never stop trying to share China’s story with the world 🌍

Happy Final Space Friday! Lots to update. So here’s the thing… since I legally can’t do a digital version of the comic, I’ve been digging into a little loophole: a motion comic. Like… an actual video version of the book. Still testing it, but Daz Tibbles did a rough test and is trying a few motion poster tests with other characters. If we pull this off, it’s gonna take FOREVER but it’s possible. That’s the key word here. Possible. And maybe worth it. Over on the Color Edition, the print file’s coming together clean. The whole focus right now is threefold: 1.Resizing 2. Color matching 3.And the “Zazz Pass” (if a tweak takes under 30 minutes, I’m hitting it). I’m building a punch list and should have some before/after examples to show off next week. It’s looking really good. On the Midnight Edition, we’re building out the UV Spot File for the cover titles on the front, spine, back, and yep, the shards of glass will glint too. Gonna look sick! Just waiting on the physical samples to land at my door so I can approve it for full print run. Also printer flagged 15 pages where the text bubbles were a little too close to the cut line, so I went in, fixed them, and sent them back. And yes, I asked about international languages. It’s doable, but that’s a whole other mountain would need to re-letter the whole thing. I’m shelving that until the English versions are fully out. In 2016 they made a sympathetic documentary called "To Hell and Back", covering Badreddin family's move from Syria to UK as refugees. During the documentary where BBC went out of their way to show Badreddins as the best humans on earth, their 18 yo son Omer was accused of sexually assaulting two 14 yo white girls. BBC kept covering them and made ridiculous claims like the girls were racist and more sexually experienced than the boys etc to scuttle the case and save the Muslim boys. It worked. Judge acquitted them saying their English wasn't good enough to understand NO, BBC now declared them victims of racism too. They got the father to cry on camera saying how their honor was hurt and they needed a 7 bedroom house at least to feel better. Obviously they were all rapists and finally Omer and his younger brother Muhammad was convicted for raping a 13 yr girl in 2024. One of them got 12 year sentence for raping that child 7 times.
