How do you incorporate the high rep sets into your training program

I typically do a max effort bench on Mondays. A bench variation of 1-3 reps max. Usually singles. Thursdays I like to do an AMRAP set at heavy weight. Something satisfying about taking someone's max and benching it nearly 30 times.

What did you bench in college

I never benched 405 until my 30s. I want to say my max in college was 365? +/- That said I had a torn labrum at the time and was recovering from an A/C joint separation.
