33 years ago today, The Shockmaster made his unforgettable debut ๐

Even if this debut went perfect how was a glitter storm trooper helmet ever going to work?

Why is he wearing a bedazzled storm trooperโs helmet!?!? ๐คฃ๐

Stevie Ray " look at this motherfucka" ๐๐๐ !! Pure gold here

Mentioned this one before, but I met Typhoon at a convention a year or two ago. Agent: "What photo do you want?" Me: "What do you have?" Agent: "We've got Typhoon--" (Typhoon nods) Agent: "--Tugboat--" (Typhoon nods) Agent: "--Natural Disasters--" (Typhoon nods, thumbs up) Agent: "--uh, Shockmaster..." (Typhoon shakes his head, mouthing 'no')

Thirty-three years later and wrestling fans still only need two words: The Shockmaster. What was supposed to be a dramatic debut became one of the most spectacularly unforgettable accidents in wrestling history. Sometimes immortality arrives by falling through a wall. ๐

If you listen carefully, you can hear Davey Boy Smith say: "He fell flat on his ass."

Another weird thing about this is ric flair turns into a cardboard cut out

Not sure how the rest of them didn't break character. Sid looking so angry instead of laughing his ass off deserves an award

If this isn't in the library of Congress I'd be highly disappointed

Ever notice WCW is always the perfect storm of fail? Like with The Yeti its not just a mummy coming to the ring but the "Yet-tay" call, the dry humping of Hogan and the completely missed Luger heel turn. Not only does Shockmaster trip, even if he doesn't fall he's still wearing a purple glittered stormtrooper helmet that looks ridiculous. Then Ole Anderson does the Dr Claw voice that makes it look even sillier. If Shockmaster just came from the normal entrance in a hard hat and uses his real voice to say he's gonna get Sid at Wargames, it wouldn't have been so memorable but at least it wouldn't have been laughed at 33 years later

I love everything about this but the best part by far is Sid's unblinking commitment to the bit.

The fact that Sid not only kept a straight face, but continued the bit is truly remarkable.

If he didnโt fall through would we still be talking about this today?

This was when Sting was at his best. Teaming with the shock master and Robocop.

I remember that. One of the hardest laughs I had from wrestling.

Ole laughing before he started cutting his promo ๐ญ๐คฃ๐

And Dusty Rhodes became a "creative genius" ๐

@HeyHeyItsConrad "Is that my uncle George?" Was it Cody who asked this? ๐

The Ric Flair cardboard cut out was the best!

Poor Sid trying his hardest to keep the angle going.

The amount of Roids pumping through Sid is mind blowing

An underrated part of this: Colonel Robert Parker, โLook at the siiiize of โem,โ still trying to save the best botch in history, lol.

One of the funniest moments ever. Thank you WCW.

Is that a storm trooper helmet? Lol

I just want to know where this was going to go if he hadn't fallen on his face first and derailed everything. Was he just going to be a fat guy wrestling with a glittery stormtrooper mask on?

wait.... Sid..... Venture Bros, Brock Samson!?!?!?!

@CardiffElect

@Anyextee Shockmaster day.
