No ‘Lemonade’ without ‘Rhythm Nation.’ No ‘Britney Jean’ without ‘Damita Jo.’ No ‘Rated R’ or ‘A Seat at the Table’ without ‘The Velvet Rope.’ No ‘CTRL’ without ‘Control.’ Janet is the blueprint.

35 years ago, Janet Jackson changed the game with 'Rhythm Nation'! 🎶💥 What’s your favorite track from the album, and how do you think it influenced today’s music? Hmm Let’s celebrate this iconic milestone! #RhythmNation #JanetJackson

Seems like yesterday HUH

Well I feel old now.

Everything about this era, song and video is iconic. She is truly your fave’s fave

Iconic! 🔥🔥🔥

One of my favourite songs ever. Still a little angry, though, that the full short film didn’t get a proper re-release with a more recent retrospective. It would be nice to place the album and its videos/short films in its proper context since it was emblematic of a shift in pop.

Jackson is Jackson...Old memory

@sociallysani Happy Anniversary! Her BEST song! Still lives on! #RhythmNation
