Deputy arrived on the scene and was shown security footage of the event and spoke with the teacher that was involved. Once the deputy caught up with the student she immediately began to resist to the point where she tried to swing on the deputy. With the help of the principal the deputy was able to take the student into custody with no harm to anyone. The student was charged with assault and resisting arrest. You can bet that this behavior is not something this child learned naturally. 3rd grade teacher gets arrested for drinking on the job. On the first day of class, school officials noticed Coates acting strangely.
