Trading memecoins can bring life-changing gains, but the risks are just as big. From cabal coins and coordinated scams to rug pulls, it’s a wild ride. Most memecoins don’t make it - they crash within days, leaving a lot of people second-guessing their next move.
The secret to finding 100x gems and dodging scams? Finding a proven research strategy and executing it like a pro. Here’s how I research and find the most promising 100x plays👇
1/ Follow the Trends ➢ Focus on coins tied to hot narratives. ➢ Skip irrelevant memes and aim for “cult” coins with strong conviction behind them. ➢ Right now, the biggest narratives are around TikTok trends, Christmas themes, and AI Agents.
2/ Start with DEX Research ➢ Start with tools like @dexscreener, but don’t fall for the trap of chasing the first trending coin you see. ➢ Use filters to filter out low-quality coins and focus on projects with real potential ⤵️
3/ Check Social Media Social platforms are goldmines for spotting “cult” coins. ➢ Look for genuine engagement and positive vibes. ➢ Watch out for red flags like muted chats, disabled comments, or too much negativity. ➢ Use @TweetScout_io to scan Twitter/X profiles for big-name followers like KOLs, major projects, or VCs.
5/ Watch Out for Centralized Supply ➢ Tools like @bubblemaps can help spot coins with overly concentrated token supplies. ➢ Be wary of projects where a few wallets dominate - exceptions might be PumpFun, Raydium, or CEXs. ➢ While Bubblemaps won’t always catch new or bundled wallets, it’s perfect for spotting obvious rug-pull risks.
6/ Prioritize Security ➢ Use @solanasniffer or @Rugcheckxyz to review token safety. ➢ New tokens might still have active mint authority or unlocked liquidity, but these tools help flag potential honeypots or rugs.

In the Meme tab, set filters in the third column: > With at least 1 social > MKT Cap: min 150k > 1h TXs: min 300 > Total Holders: min 400 The dev should hold no more than 3-5% of the total token supply, or ideally 0%. Top 10 holders should control about 10-20%, which is reasonable for a market cap of 100-200k. Make sure most snipers have exited their positions. Check the top holders to see if they’re in profit or at a loss, and assess if they could create pressure on the chart. Also, see if those who bought tokens before their migration to Raydium have exited. Check all social media channels available, or find out the reason for the token's existence—whether it's due to news, TikTok, or simply a competent dev. Use TrenchRadar to confirm that the token wasn’t heavily bought by bots or that the current holdings aren't dominated by them. If everything checks out, look for an entry point and make your purchase.
