40 years ago today Absolute pure evil.. I doubt anyone who attended this game will not still have vivid memories of the day, I’ve never experienced this much hatred inside and outside of a football ground although the replay was a close 2nd great times

I went that day. Nothing else like it. I got a brick in the face. Made a right mess. Went to Park Hosp A&E when we got back. The nurse said you lads go of to football and expect us to patch you up. The Dr said well do the bastards on Wednesday. #greatdays

Both of those games were pure hatred but wow looking back they were great games to be at , atmosphere was great and you so hd to have your wits about you

Went to this game from London, the hatred and violence was unbelievable, mainly from the victim club, then the scum killed 39 Juventus fans just over a month later, don’t hear much about that from them do we.

That was the culture of football fans in those days. I was too young back then. But, I would recommend listening to Hooligans on BBC Sounds narrated by Tony Bellew. I’ve finished it the other day, wow, some of the incidents which went on, amazes me. Quite harrowing

That much happened on the Saturday the replay would be behind closed doors these days.
