@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott Repercussion.

@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott Despite England losing the series, this is the series I wish I could go back in time and watch 😍😍 I always find it hard to believe the kind, gentle & friendly Micheal Holding that I know from commentary could have been so lethal with a cricket ball in hand🤣

@FredBoycott @YorkshireCCC @bbctms Second ball almost decapitates first slip, let alone Closey

@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott When they say batsmen in that era played with really low strike rate 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

@FredBoycott @YorkshireCCC @bbctms See how he grounds his bat after first one before going to check the pitch..

@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott Not sure if this photo was from this innings but fair play to Brian Close 👀

@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott That's would be terrifying with modern protection, let alone what Close had to deal with it. It is amazing that, pre helmet days, more cricketers weren't killed. Also, Jofra Archer reminds me so much of Holding.

@FredBoycott @YorkshireCCC @bbctms I would like to hear Michael Holding commenting to this clip.

@YorkshireCCC @bbctms @FredBoycott Bravado is alright but this was Madness. Holding could have killed Close here. Nasty stuff. Today’s batsmen with all the protection in the world would have ran away followed by their concussion subs too 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻

@FredBoycott @YorkshireCCC @bbctms I remember it well, I think they recalled him out of desperation and being a rather stubborn Yorkie, he wasn’t for backing down, there were pictures published of the bruises, looked like the evidence of a man been beaten up and almost kicked to death
