Don't lose that fuse though the satelite radio and the map go away without the modem. I would suggest testing it when you don't plan to use map in your dash and plugging it back in a couple days later and seeing if it still works.

It doesn't matter if you unplug it. As soon as you connect your phone's Bluetooth, it will use your phone's data to send all collected information. Your best bet is to get a 2015 or older.
