Araujo is such a smart player off the ball. Look at his movement after Liverpool won the ball from the high press. The moment he sensed the pass was going to Alisson, he immediately sprinted back to provide a passing option. That kind of anticipation and off-the-ball intelligence is what separates top defenders from the rest.

Attackers should study the footwork & movement mechanics of opposing defenders aswell as action tendencies; —Barnes in 1v1 against Lacroix, enters the box as the ‘driver’ vs ‘breaker’ —Sensitive location = hyper-reactive defender —Barnes uses single step-burst which exploits Lacroix’s 1) wide/heavy step placement + bias for right-leg leading & 2) reactionary state, forcing him to plant and kill his momentum as he follows the motion of Barnes’ leg instead of the ball Attackers have to smell blood in these 1v1s because they have the advantage of seeing everything that’s around the defender, whilst the defender can only see what’s in front of them. When they look, they pause. ‘Puppet phase’.

I believe the mistake most golfers make is that they try to hit a straight ball. Hogan said hitting it straight was a “fluke”. If you aim up the right side and draw it or vice versa, then you make the fairway as big as possible. If you aim up the middle, you then you cut the fairway in half. This means a shot that draws too much ends up in the rough on the left and a ball that fades too much ends up in the right rough. The game is tough enough, so try to give yourself as much advantage as possible. GP #PXGTroops
