$5 on 50.. not a bad tip.. that's 10%

Tip culture has gotten incredibly entitled. As you said 5$ on a $50 tab is not bad at all.

Tipping system in USA is just broken. Owners should just pay good wages to employees and tip should be a bonus.

Things people don’t consider. For tax purposes on $5 - let’s say an average 14%. So we are down to $4.30. Now for the restaurant most places make you tip out an average of 3% of the tab. So that’s $1.50. So she made $2.80 off that tab with an hourly of $2.13.

With that attitude you are lucky to get anything. I would not have left a dime.

why do people not understand this every other place you go for good service, you pay a service fee. when you go to the Mechanic, you pay him and for the parts, same with a doctor, a contractor etc service industry is the only place it is optional, if you cant afford to be waited on, eat at home

Most bartenders make $2.13 an hr. %10 isn’t shit. If you were taken care of and your beer was full and service was attentive, needs to be a solid $20.
