"I think that he don't care what nobody thinks, I think as long as he's happy w/ himself, not saying he don't pay attention to what his fans are saying but I think it comes from within, before he can make anyone else happy, he has to make himself happy. If he's happy w/ his decision and then you're one of his fans and don't agree w/ his decision that's on you."

While he says McGregor could have blamed his leg and created an excuse after the injury, Poirier insists he's known him long enough to believe that's not in his character. His body looked fit, his face looked unhealthy. If it's a torn ACL, after 5 years away, at his age I think he's done. He'll never come back the same.
