What an evening. What an inaugural Enhanced Games event. Honestly, if I could have scripted it, I could not have imagined a more nail-biting storyline - tension building all night, and then that unbelievable release at the end. I have to admit: I was close to a heart attack. And then I cried tears of joy when Kristian Gkolomeev won the Men’s 50m Freestyle in 20.81s, setting a new world record. He takes home a $1,000,000 bonus, a $250,000 first-place prize - and reclaims the 50m Freestyle world record. Think about what a world record actually means. It means you are better at something than roughly 8 billion other people on this planet. Let that sink in. I know some people expected us to break (many) more world records tonight. But as always in science: baseline matters. Enhancements bring out the best in you - but they are not a magic bullet. Kristian was already one of the best clean swimmers in the world - and then he added the icing on the cake to reach entirely new heights. And needless to say: the air gets thinner at the very top. Especially in the shortest events, breaking a world record has become harder and harder over the decades. And then there is the unquantifiable magic of live sport. It does not matter how good you looked in training camp. It all comes down to that one moment. A few athletes who were world-record contenders had injuries today. Others had stage fright. That is real sport. We have many more years ahead of us to break world records - one by one - and we will. We are just getting started. But world records are not even my favorite part. While breaking world records will always be one of the core themes of the Enhanced Games, what inspires me most is something else: the human drive to become the best version of ourselves. At every stage and time in life. Tonight, 22 personal bests were broken. And in many cases, these were not personal bests from last month or last year, but from many years ago. Again - let that sink in. Take Megan Romano: She set her previous personal best in the 50m freestyle (24.98) on July 16, 2013 - and tonight, nearly 13 years later, she broke it with a 24.55. She had not competed internationally in almost a decade, and at 35 years old she is now better than she was in her early twenties after only a few weeks of enhanced training. Megan defied aging in spectacular fashion and became a role model for all of us on how to age better - or maybe even how not to age at all – with the power and support of medical enhancements. Or take Emily Barclay - an athlete who had previously competed only at NCAA level. Her 50m freestyle time tonight would have been enough to win bronze in Paris. And it earned her $375,000. A true Cinderella story - made possible not by a fairy godmother, but by science. I could go on and on - and I will. Because we want to tell all of these incredible, deeply personal stories. World records are these almost mythical, elusive numbers. But winning the race against ourselves, against aging, against doubt, against the people who told us what is supposedly impossible - that is what truly inspires me. And I know it will inspire many of you too. Because Enhanced is not just a sporting event. It is a movement. A movement to help every human being become the best version of themselves. Let’s go!!!

Leg extension tips ⬇️ Some things I have to correct with a lot of clients. 1) Stop kicking the weight up and focus on “dragging” the weight up with your quads…let the quads move the load. 2) FULL extension at the top…this is the only exercise in the gym that allows us to get the quads “fully short” in absence of the hips. Milk the most out of every rep. 3) Don’t lose all tension on the eccentric by “dropping the load” just have a decent element of control. Let the quads work and not just gravity. 4) For me this isn’t an exercise I really wanna load below sets of 8-10. The sweet spot for most tends to be that 10-20 zone as it allows you to focus on the above instead of just “shifting weight” 5) Attack this movement with the respect it deserves. This isn’t just a “pump and fluff” movement by any means. Anyone who trains these hard knows this. It’s an absolute bastard of an exercise when done correctly! Do them properly! Take these on board 🤝

Thought for today…. I would like to thank Alexander Isak for his behaviour and forcing to leave Newcastle. I would also like to thank Liverpool for the duplicitous way they unsettled him. Why FFS you may ask? Hear me out… 1. The bloke is not a team player as he showed last season with his performances at the start and end of last season and we only want fully committed players at our club. 2. At some point due to the corrupt PSR rules we were going to have to sell a big player to enable us to move to the next level. It might as well be one with the lack of character and morality that he has shown. 3. Isak and Liverpool have handed us a massive windfall that has the potential to transform the club over the next few seasons. Without this we would not be able to move forward as quickly and we would all be waiting for the axe to fall on another star player. That is less likely now. 4. We now, potentially,have the strongest squad in my living memory (with the possible exception of Keegan’s Entertainers but who knows they may surpass even them) 5. The new CEO and Sporting Director (both of whom are top class if reports are correct) will be walking into a club that is united from top to bottom and in a very strong financial position. A club that has qualified for the Champions League in two of the last 3 season and won its first domestic trophy in 70 years. A club that is clearly on the up. 6. PIF will hopefully have learned lessons from what happened this summer and even though it was a little late they acted in the last few weeks and made sure the end to they transfer window could be deemed a big success despite the circumstances (next up get the CEO and Sporting Director in and announce a new stadium) 7. Eddie Howe, Andy Howe, Jamie Reuben and Steve Nickson have cemented their reputations. I recorded a video talking about my favorite... Agent Fan Out - asking your agent to break down the problem, spin up 10 more agents in parallel, and combine their results This is something I've seen everyone do - from our model research team spinning up 100 Devins to examine eval logs - or our product team using 5 child Devins to try out 5 different alternative implementations of the same thing If engineering is cheap and easy, why not build the product 10 times and choose the best one? Think of it in a master/slave context: Master Devin -> 10 Slave Devins -> Master Devin pulls their results There are two reasons this is useful 1. Agents are smartest when their context is small and their task is small & precise. Context windows are finite and too much becomes distracting 2. Agents are good at helping you break a large problem into independent & parallelizable chunks of work Every Devin is its own VM/computer so this also is just a great way to move faster. I've done a migration from React Native to Swift by having Devin break it up into 6 pieces then spin up new Devins to work in parallel In the video I build a greenfield project and try my best to show off this agent fan out concept. I also threw in a few other tricks that I've seen my coworkers do: - Let Devin write its own prompts (especially for creating child Devins). It's way better than us humans - Do tons of things at once. You should be absolutely frying your attention span. Your job should just be babysitting 38 different Devins - Don't be a blocker. Before letting the agent work I make sure to tell it to ask me any questions that would fill in ambiguities. Give your agent all the information it needs (and then some more) so that it can just cook without stopping to ask you questions every few minutes - Let Devin test itself. JERRY: I remember vividly following you when you won your first event on the PGA TOUR in Bermuda. On that final hole, you were visibly nervous on your second shot. You looked like you were immune to nerves all week long. How does that come about? HERBERT: I think it was a bit of a trick in hiding it. I was definitely feeling it out there. I can only do what I can do. I was able to take care of what I needed to do today pretty well to get me over the line. I knew it wasn't going to be a day where even par, 1-under was going to get it done for me. I knew I had to go out there and get it. Just kept pushing myself the whole way, and here we are JERRY: Did you ever hit some shots, notably the bunker shot in addition to so many others this week, where you just shook your head, like, I can't believe how good this is going? It’s a busy day at the beach and this guy thinks he can save a spot for not only someone who wasn’t already in the area but she’s not expected to be there for another hour on top of the several hours they waited already. He then proceeds to tell people who are in the spot to move. Last year I got a spot to see the fireworks easy because I talked to the groundskeeper at the cemetery right next to the fireworks spot. I had asked if it was going to be an issue if I parked there with my family to see the show. I know there is a no parking sign but I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to ask and boy did it pay off. He was totally cool with it. He explains that normally people park there without asking and they leave their trash all over the place. He also said as long as we are best and leave it the way we found it he didn’t have a problem. But he did warn that there were cameras everywhere and if anyone littered or disturbed the grounds, they already have our plate numbers and will press charges. I assured him it wouldn’t be an issue. I park there every year i go there when I am in the area. When there is an event where it’s already high street and I know many people were at a party or bbq that day having fun and drinking drinks, it adds to the stress and can cause issues. It’s really important for Americans to realize that this is a bigggg misconception that applies to all immigration, not just China. The people who come over the border, regardless of whether they’re Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Central American, generally are “not their best”. I use quotes because that’s something Trump said, “they don’t send their best”. And he is absolutely correct. There are exceptions, but the people who cross the border, tend to be criminals, people who can’t a get a job, the uneducated, etc. Why? The educated can get jobs in their home countries. Or can immigrate to the US legally (at least used to). If you have a criminal record in your home country, you don’t have one in the USA. If you screwed up and dropped out of high school, you can cut vegetables in the back of a restaurant. Law abiding citizens of foreign countries, no matter what you think about the greatness of America, are not thrilled to break the law and enter a country like this. This immigration for many if not most of these countries is economic. Most of these people are not coming for a better life. They are coming for the currency arbitrage. Or at least that used to be the case. From 2021 to 2024 border crossing immigrants were getting free housing and cash debit cards (look it up) in places like NYC. So that, again, brought another type of person, but, again, it was “not their best”. So, unless you’re in a country that is experiencing civil war, or maybe a total basket case, you mainly go to the US via the illegal border, not for a better life but for currency arbitrage or because you don’t have a better option in your home country which has made it tough for you to get a job for whatever reason. Okay, now let’s talk a bit more about China. For the Chinese that cross the border, life is way better in China. They speak the language. There is less crime. They’re surrounded by their family. They don’t need a car in most places. It’s the same culture and there friends are there. Life is pretty good in China, and because they’re going to work hard in the USA too, it’s probably better in China across every single socioeconomic quartile of society too (unless you have a criminal record or can’t get a job for whatever reason).
