I thought ZZZ was just a chill and cozy game with all the goofy vibes from these characters, but it does get serious when it really wants to, and I think thatโ€™s what makes it so fun and easy to get into. The combat is by far my favorite thing about this game. The musicโ€ฆ maybe a little. It could be better. The voice acting is excellent, and I love how they bring these characters to life. Theyโ€™re doing a great job portraying their personalities and struggles. I especially love Koleda and her not so mecha battle against that unknown monster. Sheโ€™s a construction worker, and seeing her use the construction machine her father built for her to defeat that monster was so hype. I love her. I canโ€™t wait to play more of this game!

I love how this anime shows just how powerful creators can be for their characters. Their pen, and everyone who believes in their creativity, gets to decide the fate of the world they made. Selesiaโ€™s creator is selfish. He wrote a sad story for a heroine who is always fighting and always hurting. But he loves her too much to let her die like this. Sheโ€™s larger than life to him. People want to see her succeed in her world. They learn from her struggles. Letting her die without achieving any of that is the kind of fate no creator wants for their character. A god is powerless without those who believe in him. This scene shows that his writing alone cannot change her fate. It's the people who read her light novel and watch her anime. What a beautiful moment. It made me cry.

When I genuinely love an artist, I donโ€™t need to know everything about their personal life. I really like JENNIE, for example. I never really wanted to know about her private life. ๐Ÿ”ฅ MIRESI HAS A WHOLE WAIFU OFFICE SYSTEM?! ๐Ÿ˜ญ Okay, this might be one of my favorite little features shown in the new TGS gameplay. ๐Ÿข You have your own Councilor's Room, basically your personal office where you can invite characters to come and relax. ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ They don't just stand there like NPC decorations either. In the TGS build, you can see Itsuka casually lying back on the sofa using her phone. โค๏ธ And it actually changes with Affinity. As your relationship grows, characters become more comfortable around you. Their posture becomes more relaxed and even the way they talk to you changes. BUT THE FIGURINE SYSTEM IS EVEN COOLER. ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿ“ธ During combat, you can freeze a moment at the perfect time and capture your character in that exact pose. ๐Ÿ—ฟ That pose can then become a collectible figurine that you bring back and display on your desk inside the office. So yes, you can basically turn your favorite combat moments into your own little anime figure collection. ๐Ÿ˜‚ There is also a deeper interaction involving the mysterious brands that appear on the bodies of time traveling characters, which you can help stabilize as part of their interactions and stories. Zephyr Arland is a character who was always going to be made by me, one way or another, in some capacity. His golden heart and desire to help others is something I want to see more of in myself and in the world around me. He harkens back to an age of superheroes that was filled with hope, optimism, and fun. I spent countless hours on his supersuit design, something that was deeply important to me and which has landed with both fans, colleagues, and fellow creatives more spectacularly than I ever could have hoped for. I've been blessed with so many people who have believed in me and in this character and the stories I want to tell with him. Carrow Brown believed in it from Day One, and challenged me to challenge myself in my writing, and the character voice for Zephyr's best friend, Ian, is heavily credited to her influence. This is going to be a tough one for me. I have been dreading this day for the last decade. As some of you know, I have been a fan of Dolly from way back, and not the type to say โ€œJoleneโ€ is my favorite song (not that thereโ€™s anything wrong with that). Her entire song catalogue has comforted me, brought me joy, and guided me throughout my life. In the coming days, I will share some of my favorites. I think CihAl's consummation (or whatever else you'd like to call it) scene is probably one of the most well-thought-out ones of the series. It's perfect for Alya and Cihan's characters. And, if you watch the build-up, you can pinpoint where both decide to take their relationship to the next step. Let's start with my baby girl. Alya makes up her mind that she's done minding the distance between Cihan and herself pretty early on after she enters her room. The way she turns and looks back at the door with a half-smile. Then the camera pans in on the liquor, almost as if to say, she's thinking maybe she needs a little fortitude. And in the next room, Cihan is going through the same restlessness, almost like he's chomping at the bit too, but can't bring himself to act on what he's thinking. Next up, Alya downs some liquid courage and fills her glass again, almost as if a plan's forming in her head. And when she walks out of her room, she pauses, staring at Cihan's door. Eventually, she decides against it because, like the queen she is, she wants a neutral setting, not to overwhelm Cihan, but to engage Cihan's caution, and to see if he's ready to leave it behind. A broken vase later, when Cihan finally descends the steps to go to his wife, Alya gives him a very unconvincing performance of drunkenness. She wants to invite him to sit with her and iron a few things out between them. This is where her playacting is important because it gives them both protection. If Cihan isn't ready to move forward, she can retreat with her dignity, and he wouldn't have to feel pressured or remorseful. But, Cihan, being the brainiac he is, understands his wife is up to something. And, of course, he wants her like crazy, too, so he decides to play along while upping the ante a little - which is why he offers to carry her to her room. Her room. Not his. Because no matter what transpires, his priority is her comfort. So, up they go, and when he lays her down on her bed, Alya pulls him to sit next to her, and switches to phase two. Remember when I said she doesn't want to override him? Her sequence of questions is a gentle attempt to determine if she's read him correctly. That his guilt is no longer the determining factor in their relationship, without triggering any resentment. Why are we staying in separate rooms? Aren't we married? Don't you love me? Don't I love you? Aren't you my husband? Am I not your wife? Then why are we sleeping in separate beds? See? It's a logical dismantling of the remaining distance between them. And every time Cihan answers, it gives her more courage to move forward, it gives her more hope. Cihan isn't being led; he's an active participant, and he is choosing to be. Step by step, to move forward with Alya, by staying in the conversation, to meet her halfway. Then comes the cute nose-rubbing session, and you can see Cihan wants to give in. But old habits die hard, so he has to be sure. Did you drink too much he asks, and that's when Alya gives up her game. Because she's sure too. She tells him how she only drank one glass of wine and how she broke that vase on purpose. Because when they're so close to the brink, she lays all her cards on the table, like always. It isn't like her to hide. And when Cihan brings the topic back to her drunkenness again, that's him proceeding with care. Baby steps. This is his life we're talking about... I mean, his wife. So, Alya Hanim takes up the challenge and asks, 'Would I only want to when I'm drunk?' things are clear as day. The proverbial bulb goes on in Ciho's head. His 'I don't know, maybe' is him being coy, like the imp he is. But all that playfulness goes out the window when his wife says, 'Wouldn't you like to find out?' I think Alya may have managed to give Cihan a mini heart attack with those words, because his answer is so faint, it's laughable. From that point on, it's all engines go for both of them. They're sure now, their minds and hearts are on the same page. After that, it's all love, desire, flirtatiousness, playful goading, and everything that's quintessentially CihAl.
