Ukraine is a US proxy like the occupiers of Palestine. The nuclear weapons belonged to the USSR, not Ukraine. Ukraine & Russia got along fine before US 2013 intervention. A better comparison is Libya giving up its nuclear programs. Iran warned it not to do so.
