$7 trillion is about to get spent on GPU clouds, and every provider is being asked to get 100x bigger overnight. ClusterMAX 3.0 spent three months finding out who actually can. Ep. 033 of SemiAnalysis Weekly is live. Jordan Nanos (Jordan Nanos) sits down with Sam Harshe (sharshe) and...

@JordanNanos Scale plans meet the meter first. US data-centre power went ~76 TWh (2018) → 176 TWh (2023); IEA puts ~20% of planned DC projects at delay risk on the grid.

@JordanNanos Asking every provider to get 100x bigger overnight is the right framing for ClusterMAX. The $7T spend story only clears if ops and power scale with the purchase orders.

@JordanNanos 77 GPU clouds renting the same Nvidia silicon isn't an industry, it's a credit market with cooling fans, which is why "financing and backstops" is the most important item buried in that list.

@JordanNanos 77 tested, two in Platinum. The line that actually reprices the $7T question is further down the table: Azure moved to Silver, Crusoe to Bronze, Fluidstack to Unavailable. Capacity is the easy part; the ranking is measuring whether it works.

@JordanNanos The interesting number isn't the $7T, it's that a rating system had to get invented for GPU clouds at all. When capital chases capacity that hard, every neocloud claims great uptime — ClusterMAX exists because nobody had a way to check who's actually telling the truth.

@JordanNanos seems to be an obvious pay to play ranking to me.. not sure I'd lend credence or credibility here... simply a paid marketing video

Spencer Pratt drags Bill Maher out of his liberal bubble and brought him back down to earth. Maher was annoyed that Pratt didn’t know the specifics about taxes on solar powered energy, but Pratt humbled him with the REAL problems Angelenos care about. MAHER: “This is a state that is constantly overthinking everything, and over regulating everything.” “Trust me, I know. I did whole bits about how it took me three years to get the solar turned on.” “Solar! Something they want you to have!” PRATT: “But now they’re taxing you, I think, for having it.” MAHER: “They are?” PRATT: “I think so.” MAHER: “What do you mean you think so?! You have to know!” PRATT: “I don’t need to know about solar, you know?” “I need to focus on making sure the moms are safe and the animals are not being abused. That’s my party.” MAHER: “I know. but if you’re the mayor...” PRATT: “Solar panels, that’s going to be somebody I’m hiring. That’s my deputy mayor who’s going to worry about the solar panels.” MAHER: “No, Spencer. I got bad news. If you’re the mayor, you are going to have to learn some of these issues more intricately.” PRATT: “Solar panels...we’re about three years from worrying about solar panels.” “We need to get all of the naked drug addicts off of the sidewalks and then I can worry about solar panels.” MAHER: “We can’t walk and chew gum at the same time?” PRATT: “With the state of LA right now, solar panels, you’re gonna spit that gum out.”

VP VANCE PREDICTED: PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET ANGRY, AND RIGHTFULLY SO "This stuff we can and we should prosecute, and I'm just telling you, this is going to be a real problem, and the people are going to get really pissed at Senate Republicans if we don't have the U.S. attorneys on the ground to actually achieve justice. People are going to get angry, and rightfully so." If you want justice, you've got to empower the President of the United States to actually appoint the officers of justice all over the country. The Democrats are stalling that, and we're going to wake up in a couple of years, if we don't have more U.S. attorneys approved, if we don't have more judges approved, we're going to wake up in a couple of years and realize that we've done a lot of great work at the Trump administration, but justice is not being meted out as it should be because we don't have the people on the ground. That is a big problem, and I know that's somewhat unrelated to Arctic Frost, but it actually is related to Arctic Frost, because you cannot get the justice for the people who are targeted by the Biden administration unless we've got good people, especially in these U.S. attorneys offices, and that's something we've got to pay attention to over the next year. Spying on President Trump, prosecuting him, investigating senators, congressmen, and congressmen who are just aligned with the President of the United States some of this stuff is going to get covered by statute of limitations, but some of this stuff we can and we should prosecute, and I'm just telling you, this is going to be a real problem, and the people who watch your show are going to get really pissed at Senate Republicans, excuse my language, if we don't have the U.S. attorneys on the ground to actually achieve justice, people are going to get angry, and rightfully so. "We Need to Employ $50 Trillion": Larry Fink on Why the Private Sector Must Lead the Green Transition "Well, if they don't get it done, then we are going to have more risk as societies, we're going to have more issues related to rising climate and importantly, which will create more societal issues." "Already we're seeing an impact in society right now from climate risk and climate change. are seeing insurance premiums going up 18 % a year right now. So we're seeing a real impact from what climate risk is doing from flooding, from fires. So we're seeing a big impact." "And so the faster that we could find ways to mitigating the rising temperatures, I would say the more just society could be. And so to me, we don't have much time. And this is why when I learned about catalyst and I learned about what Bill was doing was very clear to me why we needed to be a part of this, why we needed to invest the time and the money." "And the key is also the time because we need to be learning about these new the new technologies and how to move forward. And we need to then inform our investors ultimately where we think the next opportunities are going to be too as Bill in his book wrote about, we need to employ $50 trillion to get to a green world." "With the rising deficits that we see in governments, from our perspective, the 50 trillion is mostly going to have to come from the private sector. And I do believe that money will be well spent, well spent for returns. It will transform our economies. It will build new jobs. will build new cities and new opportunities." "So I look at this as an optimist. I don't look at this as a pessimist. But the key is to be that optimist. We have to jump on it now. We have to be investing today. We need to talk about it today, although much of the problems in the future but we're seeing more and more evidence of the problem today."

Coinbase CEO Explains “Reverse Prompting” and the Rise of the AI CEO Brian Armstrong: “One of the big pushes we made in the last year was we got our own internal hosted AI model that was connected to all of our data sources, right?” “So it's like every Slack message, every Google doc, Salesforce data, Confluence, you know.” “So now the data is all aggregated and I've started to ask it really… it's not just like prompting it, ‘Hey, can you write this kind of memo for me,’ or something.” “I'm asking these AI agents now, ‘As CEO, what should I be aware of in the company that I might not be aware of?’ And it'll tell me, ‘Did you know that there's actually disagreement on this team about the strategy?’ And I was like, actually, I didn't know that.” “This is like reverse prompting. So instead of telling the AI agent what you want it to do, you ask it what you should be thinking more about.” @jason: “It's a mentor. It's a coach.” Brian: “Yeah. Like, what could make me a better CEO? And it's like, ‘Well, I looked at how you spent your time in the last quarter and here's how you said that you wanted to spend it, but you actually spent 32% of your time on this instead of 20%.’” “I've asked it other questions like, ‘What's the thing that I changed my mind on the most over the last year?’ Things like that.” “It'll prompt you with information you should be thinking about instead of the other way around.” Thanks to our partner for making this happen!: Our episode is sponsored by the New York Stock Exchange - a modern marketplace and exchange for building the future. It all happens at the NYSE 🏛.
