80s and the present. I would prefer the 80s.

Let's rewind back to the '80s.

80s win hands down. Today's life looks depressing.

The irony is, we're all looking at this and agreeing...in our phones.

2026 still listening to the 80's although wardrobe update needed for the cougars Madonna, Britney, Shakira...

The only color these days is perverted. The endless swaths of gray are what they serve us as our world shrinks into nothingness.

Those outfits look more 1986-1991 than 1980. In 1980 people wore more earthy colors and had feathered hair. The big hair, shoulderpads and neon flashy bright colors was more of a late 80s thing. Also walkmans didn't really become common until the mid to late 80s.

There is a lot of (intentional) exaggeration in there, but what I find accurate is the missing color. It's almost as if we are allergic to color nowadays. Which is sad.

This one says it all 😲

My favorite mall in 1989. Horton Plaza, San Diego

Others may be in line but bathing beats a clean and tidy room

I was Rocken it 😎 Miss my hair 😂 🎸🎸🎸🎸

The world has lost whimsy and color

Fun times listening to this on my cassette boom box. I’m sure my parents n neighbors enjoyed it too. lol

Now do the 70's.

I miss the 80’s 😔

Boy this is one boring generation we’re living in now no color no personality the music and movies are so bland now a days everything sound the same act and look the same no originality at all everyone seem so fake.

A special time. IYKYK

The 80's was more colourful. These days, the colors are monotone.

No way that many young adults are sitting on the hood of that car (last clip) in 2026; the metal is too thin, and the entire hood would be collapsed.

Less hate ,more fun, great music, 80’s hands down

They killed the colors in everything. No wonder depression is so high.🤔

That’s middle-class burbs, overdone mall trend 80s via Hollywood. We did not dress like that. We dressed like this in high school:

Present tech in 80’s would have been awesome!

80s were alive ... now everything is clinical and dead.

Late 80's, early 90's for me. But '99 was the height. Lauryn Hill's Music Video "Everything is Everything," is 💯% the culmination of all Art at the fusion point between the analogue and digital ages. Acid Washed Jeans suck, but still a thousand times better than skinny jeans.

NO WAY the “punch bowl” was that close to the turntable. The turntable owner would have strenuously objected and immediately removed it from a 10 foot radius!! ❌🍺🍷🥃

The inventiveness of the music was off the charts. Every year there was a brand new genre ! Like literally. Sometimes multiple genres sprouting up like crazy. Back in the 2017 , DJ Manfredas at a Boiler Room gig in Vilnius dropped a rediscovered track from 1985 !!

I'm still stuck in the 80s then...my bedroom is the same. I still wear some of those clothes - mainly b/c I found some of my old clothes from when I was a teen & they fit. I was like I'm not throwing them away & can make them work. Blazer w/ shoulder pads? Sure.

The 80s was a cool time to be alive I miss it every day…☎️

@TheFigen_ 😊 I will prefer a way back, nothing is real in the millinium years. They fake happiness. They claim to be rich. They want attention. They are not real. The list is endless!

2026 is eerily familiar.. "The great nepenthe. Opiate of our masses. Glue of our great society. Salve & salvation, it has delivered us from pathos, from sorrow, the deepest chasms of melancholy & hate. With it, we anesthetize grief, annihilate jealousy, obliterate rage. Those sister impulses towards joy, love, & elation are anesthetized in stride, we accept as fair sacrifice."

Today's music is either whiny or angry and has mediocre singers most of the time.
