I have an idea for an airline that I think could work. Have a separate coach cabin that is identical to regular coach, but just charge 10% more. Not everyone needs the extra leg room or other amenities, they just fly business to avoid this. Advertise that you get nothing extra with the upgrade over regular coach. Just a little financial barrier for peace and quiet while still saving money over business class.
