At that price it's better to buy a PC

Matched settings? So it's running native? Performance mode on PS5 is upscaled. Unfair comparision.

Can the ps5 play any n64, Dreamcast, Neo-Geo and Snes games not in their current library? Nope Does the PS5 support player created mods? Nope Can the PS5 play games at both 4K and 60fps at the same time? Nope Nuff said

one is upscaled. one is not. do not be ignorant.

Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.31 running on a $700 PS5 Pro with PSSR 2 (ray tracing 60fps mode, og launch price). Compare to $1,049 Steam Machine with lesser performance and NO CONTROLLER INCLUDED.

Steam machine can fit here and not look like a spacecraft. PS5 cannot because it is 3 times the size and it looks like a spacecraft. That's the point of the Steam Machine

But it can play the entire library of PC games and the ROM's of every system that ever existed. PC games are infinitely cheaper than PS5 games and if you just sign up for Epic store you won't even have to pay for them.

Its a pre-built computer... branded as a console which plays pc ports...

The Steam Machine is pretty pathetic.

Building a 1440p Pc for that same price is the best option than buying this steam machine

Perfectly calibrated ps5 vs brand new to be released system and barely wins. Playstation has a monthly fee to play online, and something like what 1.000 games, whilst steam has 130.000 games.

On the plus side, the Steam Machine will not charge you monthly to game online with buddies and all the benefits of a PC.

SM has a higher initial price but Steam also has better sales on games, plus you can use other storefronts like Epic and GOG. And it doesn't require a monthly subscription to play your purchased games online either. That $400 difference will get eaten up after ~2-3 years and is why Sony prices their consoles at a loss.

But why does graphics in steam machine looks highly details you can see leaf particles and forest interaction air compare to ps5 I think you running it on way too hight

I love how you left out the part where the PS5 version is running in performance mode where the resolution is sub-1080 upscaled to 1440, whereas the steam machine is running native 1440. But sure, keep lying and coping. It's really funny.

PS5 is using upscaling and steam machine is running native in this comparison

Keep in mind that PS5 runs on 360p and just upscales.

Pro-PS5 Propaganda. A few points of Framerate off... Okay. But can you actually see the difference? I can't. So lets compare other things, like game selection, market pricing, and other things that the PS5 just can't do or touch.

This perfectly illustrates the power of fixed-hardware optimization. While a PC architecture offers modularity, paying over $1,000 to match a base $500 console's performance highlights why dedicated hardware remains the more efficient choice for pure gaming value

You maa fuckas make me wanna mute everything about video games I swear

PS5 basically a PC OMG!

Yes, it's expensive because of the AI bubble, and the pricing is pretty bad. But there are also many great sides to it. You're buying it for games, right? It's basically a portable PC too, you can play almost any cracked game you want. size also very compact

Damn! Who’s responsible for this? Doesn’t Steam have R&D people who test this? How could you release a product in 2026 only for a base console from six years ago that cost half the price to run circles around you?

Considering it’s running an emulated version of the windows game vs native hardware support on PlayStation that’s not actually half bad.

So tell me, does the ps5 upscale 4k or does it run it natively without upscale?

I think the Steam Machine is a ripoff but I think Alan Wake II isn't the best game to test it with, it's quite possibly the single most intensive game you could play on PC

You're really gonna use Alan Wake 2 as a benchmark when one console has obviously native support (because it's a PS game) while Steam Machine requires a translation layer to run the game because devs don't give a crap about porting the game to Linux? Absolutely disingenuous.

Same reason why most PS players are not jumping to an Xbox. Steam players won't leave their libraries to start over on a different platform.

Use #Gamescope bro

Bro found a 5 FPS difference and called it “barely PS5 performance” 💀📉

So let me guess you are showing game that has been highly optimized from the launch to ps5 and comparing it to a multi platform that has its own optimizations. Wait for patch from devs and its most likely running even faster. So no shit sherlock. :D

The launch of it was unfortunately mis timed, if this came out last June before the AI price increases it would have been half the price and a much better proposition.
