The Fresno Fire Department received reports of the man being swept away and, with the help of Fresno Police Department helicopters, located him and his dog. Crews gained access to the canal and used ground ladders to safely rescue the man and his dog. The man suffered minor injuries while the dog was unharmed and reunited with a family member.
